What are you guys interpretation of the song? I imagine this is a story about a man who has lost his beloved. He'll be thinking about her every day and dreaming of her every night, dreading his awakening. The dreams are never long enough. He'll start pursuing her soul from the afterlife. He'll search and search and go through the horrors to reawaken her. In the end, he'll lay on the ground, tired, exhausted, nothing more than skin and bones .. he'll be seeing his beloved right in front of him. She'll lay next to him, hold his hand. And there, he'll die. It doesn't explain the "darling, don't wake yourself tonight", though.

Huh, yeah, that could be, good idea. However, I originally did not think that he succeeded in reawakening her, only seeing her as an illusion. But it does fit quite well with him succeeding and then regretting ^_^ Maybe he reawakens her at the cost of his own life, and he has to be ready for it?
