Um... This story fails to convey a clear story. Also, I'm pretty sure that the song's original story concept involved the man choosing a mission that took precedence over his relationship with the woman and pushed her away in the process, and she took note of his lack of attention, divorced herself from anything associated with him, and distracted herself by building her own circle of power and control. Later, she (they) realizes the time when they had no barrier between them and chooses to reconcile with her partner, regardless of their mutual hurts.
