[Epic Seven] Wyvern 13 - An All In One Guide For New Players, One Shots, And More (March 2022)

This is the most ambitious video I've done to date. I wanted to create a video that players could use as a resource to learn to clear Wyvern 13 or improve their current teams to get the most value. In this video we go over why you should hunt Wyvern, what Wyvern 13's mechanics are, what characters to use (with Stats, Artifacts, and Skill levels), and finally a walk through to help you build your very first Wyvern team and how to transition it to an eventual One Shot.

The content scope for that mode in epic seven was previously occupied by level_up_together, but they switched to twitch and their account has been inactive. Just a thought. There’s an epic 7 content creator that uses CR comps for some abyss floors, that consist of schuri/taranor guard, lots, a lots, and kitty Clarissa

Bro I've been playing E7 for like 6 months and I just realized that some heroes' imprints only apply to certain positions, I just thought they applied to the whole team unless you Imprint Concentrate.....

Great video. Couple of minor points I think you should consider though: (it turned out pretty long so a TL;DR up top:) - Muwi is better than you give him credit for for very new accounts, his reliable CR push and Atk down makes him a huge factor in stabilizing 'healer tank' runs on a new account with the frontline being on the free hp% set gear. - The 'do you need a oneshot' discussion should have included a mention of how much leif / stam income you need to supply 2 days worth of hunt buff one-shot runs. The majority of F2P and low spending players can comfortably spend down their leif reserves during buffs even with teams that take 3-4 minutes. - In part because 15% resistance impacts the one-shot team's reliability and average clear time, there are much lower investment team variants out there that go for '1.5shot' with GPurg and Clarissa, and achieve comparable clears per hour with much lower investment. (They're only about 15s slower but more stable). Probably worth a mention. ==== LONG VERSION BELOW ==== - Muwi should have gotten a shout-out as the premier unit for literal starting hunts. I ran a new account a couple of months ago to see how the new player experience is, and tried to get to stable, fast-ish W13 runs quickly. Muwi is an absolute game changer because he CR pushes your tank/healer significantly, making it way easier for them to survive. Most new players will be using the free health set on their angelica/montmorancy to tank the wyvern, and what I've seen on my alt and heard the same from friends is that by far the most common cause of failure in those runs was the frontline healer being too slow to heal themselves and dying. TG CR pushes on his S2 but the push is weaker % and it's not as consistent. - The rationale for needing a one-shot gets a lot less clear when you consider that most players don't nearly have enough leif supply to go through 2 days of oneshots every month. Going by your calculations, a 2 minute 1-shot team would clear 1440 runs in the 2 days of hunt buff every month. That is 360 leifs per month. That's firmly whale territory. Of course that's assuming you spend every waking minute hunting but even a more realistic estimate - hunting when you're awake so roughly 16 hours a day - costs 240 leifs, which is still way more than a non-spender would accumulate in 1 month. - I'm assuming you cut it for brevity's sake, but it would have been helpful to have a discussion about the failure rate of runs due to 15% and how they factor into expected successful runs / hour, esp. given a failed run often takes significantly longer as the wyvern takes a while to kill your team. - There is a W13 team archetype that I think would have been useful to talk about, and that's the '1.5shot' 'slow-fast' build with GPurg, Clarissa, SSB and Sigret. It takes about 10-20s longer than a traditional one-shot, but it's more consistent (you have more chances to land def break and crucially your team is resilient to not landing a def break in the first round as long as they land in the second round, and it doesn't slow the run down much). I think that setup is useful for a number of reasons: - Taking the one-shot team's failures by 15% into account, it ends up very close in successful runs/hour as a traditional oneshot team, so it's almost as good, potentially better depending on setup - It doesn't require singelica (although arguably GPurg is the same rarity so that isn't a huge advantage) - It has way lower gear/investment requirements than a traditional one-shot and is therefore accessible to way more players - Later on can be transitioned into a Clarissa cleave setup with GPurg that's almost as fast as a one-shot but significantly more reliable with the right 4th unit (although at that point it's similar in gear requirements to a traditional one-shot). Personally I'm using the '1.5x' build with low-ish invesment, my runs are about 90-100s on average but a lot more consistent than a one-shot, and as a low spender who plays actively to get leifs (even the surveys etc), buys burning passion, and has the monthly energy pack running, but doesn't buy the 'leif packs' or use skystones to refill stamina, I very comfortably burn all my leifs at the end of each month during buffs with this team. I realize it's pretty close to a regular high-end version of the W13 team you outlined, but I think it should have been mentioned that with proper setup and thought, and just one okay rage set, you can get your clears per hour comparable to one-shot teams with regular units with less investment. The video kind of makes it out to be 'singelica and great gear in a one-shot setup or you're falling behind' which really doesn't seem to be accurate. I can't link anything in the comment section, but if you're curious about the '1.5shot' build, the resource I used can be found by searching for ' "1.5 shot" - Fast W13 Guide ', it's the first Reddit link that pops up. All that said this video is still a great information-dense resource for players looking to up their W13 game. Just yeah a couple of points I thought were worth pointing out.

Noted on a few of these things. As you said, a lot of this stuff was cut to try to keep the video under 30 mins. I recognize how good Muwi is for new players but there just wasn't enough time to gush about how amazing he was. At the end of the day though, he will eventually be swapped out and doesn't have any other real uses as far as I know. That's why I didn't give him as much breathing room as others in the video. Also maybe it's just me but I don't regularly buy leifs and I used to struggle spending all my leifs in a weekend until I started moving towards a one shot. I still don't finish sometimes. That said, your points are valid though. I tried to do as much as I could in the time frame. I really didn't want to make a video over 30 mins.

you are forgetting here that slow teams are also suceptible to rng that will fail the hunt and not only that but the tank will stall the fight out for 5 minutes if sigret is wiped first. just because one-shot teams are for whales doesnt mean they should completly ignored because some people like to play only on hunt event and need time to run expos also. The average play time of most poeple in the world is 2 hours a weekend when you have a busy life and a job. I really dont understand why people who play these games blow smoke up the arse of anything they think is morally right in their opinion and hate on people for having things they spent money on. I'd just like to add that not paying for a service and then pissing on people who do is a joke. its like stealing from a shop and complaining that people actually pay for the food inside.

Tank won't stall because it's GPurg without a healer, dies quick. Overall it goes through energy at about 80-90% the speed of a oneshot team for much less investment. The rest of your comment is a weird rant about whales and f2ps that's pretty irrelevant to my comment, I wasn't saying anything about the morality of whaling or whatever. Won't comment on that, sounds like a you issue.

Yes i like to rant because it highlights how stupid these comments get when the conversation should only be about inproving the guide as a whole. Mui is not worth peoples time because he is not free first off and he is overated thats my point. If he dies it doesnt matter and a 10% CR push every second turn is not good. if he counters the boss on turn two you just lose the fight anyway to another unit being sniped because he is another furious and having one furious in the team is bad enough. One dps is not enough if its not alexa because without poison that shield is not breaking for a new player. also i'll add that on turns where you have to break the shield the cr push he does doesn't happen. They should have just buffed taranor guard instead of trying to make a half and half support dps 3 star.

mention of blue chloe would have been appreciated. she's not ideal because of the mola investment needed, but she her magic nail and 2 turn def break with ee make her very useful for early and mid gamers. ee also improves her base stats. my chloe tops both alexa and karin on my ssb/chloe/blue theif comp on dps from battle results every time, with very average gear.

Hey Tsu! Great videos, I've used all your guides to help to ramp up to a 1 shot for every hunt, really great guides and let me be proof that every single guide has resulted in the construction of a successful 1 shot for each hunt,so thank you for that. The only, ONLY piece of information that I've found to be a bit misleading in any guide is that "there's no going wrong with Clarissa" for a Wyvern 1 shot. I'm not saying it can't be done, but for her to hit 170 (ideal) speed and have adequate damage for wave 1, her average gear score needs to be around 95, with max imprints on everyone, the right exclusive equipment and artifact, which is a HUGE reach for the newer player this video is likely to be informing. Loved Clarissa for Wyv farming up until 1 shot, and being somewhat new to hunts this guide made it seem like just upping the gear quality was a somewhat easy order to get her 1-shot capable, but I have found getting her 1 shot capable is extremely difficult. It was definitely better to just wait for a custom banner and summon SSB rather than keep pursuing gear for Clarissa. Just FYI, having been the new player using your guides, following all of them to the letter, to great success, for all other hunts, I have found that to be the only piece of information nearly impossible to follow up on. Very good information (especially for new players). I think there's a bit too much focus on the 1-shot team though. As long as you're f2p or even a light spender, a normal Gpurg team is easily fast enough to clear your leafs and mail stamina during the hunt events while requiring much less investment (both in terms of gear, units and having no +30 Drink requirement). I've played for 2 years and I still don't one-shot.

Just a hint for new players - Do not reroll accounts for Sigret. She is easily obtainable as a free character. Rather reroll for another 5star you would enjoy like Vildred or Ludwig (who just received a really really good buff for PVP) But all in all, an amazing video. I'm new myself at this game tho I am a Lacari viewer so I've been watching. I only have a team of Sigret, Muwi and Angelica. Would it be better to run Rem or should I use Alexa as AOE dps?

Just a good thing to keep in mind one shot builds are a huge investment (mostly) it’s hard to build a one shot team if you don’t have good gear I am rank 70 (current max) and have been playing for around 2-3 years my wyvern team clears around 3 minutes I can not one shot therefore don’t try to one shot or consider one shot if your really that new to the game you won’t be able to keep your expectations in check is what I means

Just saw this. I will try my best. I don't think I really need to do one for Banshee though as you can see Vivian's stats in my "How to Play: Vivian" video on this channel. You can get her for free this April. The other units for a Banshee team will have their stats featured in "How to Play: Baiken" which I'll have out this upcoming week. Between those 2 videos you should be able to piece together a full Banshee team.

65% should be enough. It's possible to still miss the debuff if your Skills aren't leveled up enough. There's also a 15% chance your debuff will always miss regardless of any other factors as well. It's just something built into the game.

Isn't Crozet basically budget Krau? I'm wondering why there was no mention of using Krau. I'm not saying you couldn't do it without him, I just feel like he is solid for a tank option if you wanted to use him for that purpose. I run SSB, Luna, Krau, and Sigret and seem to do pretty decent. I could build a one shot team, but I'm a bit lazy and will get to it eventually. Am I missing something?

Yes. As I state in the video, I do not cover every possible option for Wyvern. I cover the ones that will be the best for transitioning to strong/fast teams later on. If Tywin will help you now, there's nothing wrong with using him. Just for many players, he's not really used anywhere else so the resources invested may end up feeling wasted long term unless he gets buffed.

If you're a new player, Muwi will be easiest for you to make do with. Clarissa is the best scaling unit but the hardest to use.

Chloe is a great choice for Wyvern if you're just starting out and will carry you all the way to Wyvern 13. The problem is that she occupies the same spot as Sigret, which you get for free. Sigret is the better of the two and that's where you start to see the problem. Why play Chloe when you could just play Sigret? That's not to say you can't play both, it just won't be as optimal/fast as if you played a different setup. She's definitely a good character for Wyvern, I just wouldn't say she's the best.

Definitely switch them out. Kise is more for PvP. Chaos Axe isn't super great in general and Aramintha, being Red, I'd a detriment to your team due to the Wyvern passive.

The 2 minute team can do 1080 runs, but that requires a LOT of energy. Does the game give you that many leaves? How is it possible to even run this many? (I'm a newb building wyvern team)

It's the 2021 World Champions Hunt Team. You can try searching for Brother Stone. There is a Banshee 13 one shot team you can make by watching "How to Play Vivian" and "How to Play Baiken" on this channel. For the others, I may do something in the future. Azamanak and Golem use the same team which is built around Vivian. Caides has a lot of variations and is honestly a major pain. Straze is the best option there.

I know this is old, but seems odd that you don't mention for Karin that her def break only lasts 1 turn, which makes her not ideal for non one-shot.

Hello! I'm fairly new to the game, I've been playing for 3 weeks or so, so there's much I don't understand. I've been trying to clear Wyvern with Angelic Montmorancy, Furiuos, Muwi and Sigret, but I can only beat Wyvern 12 with much luck at best. I recently summoned Luna and SSB, can I replace Furious and Muwi with those 2? If that's the case, what builds should I use for them?

You can for sure but you gotta remember their roles. SSB is an AoE character with Target. She's a good general DPS but you need a Defense breaker. Luna can do that but she's not as good as say Furious at that. The builds for SSB are in this video. If you want to learn how to play Luna, there is a guide for her here on the channel of you search. It's good that you can beat Wyvern 12. This isn't a race, it's a marathon. You will eventually get better gear from 12 to allow you to progress through to 13.

The main issue my current team is experiencing now is that Muwi and Furious are really lacking on the damage department, so I always fail at breaking wyvern's shield in time and get destroyed by his AoE punisher. Also, Furious defence break is not reliable enough, in practice, I noticed it only only works around 40% of the time. After watching you video on Luna and SSB, I think they have the DPS I need to break that damn shield. Even if Luna's defence break is worse than Furious', I think her high damage will more than make up for it, so it's worth a try. And besides, since I'm a beginner, my Wyvern team is my only team, and they don't work well on other PVE content, but seems like Luna and SSB can shine basically everywhere, so it feels like a good investment, right?

@@GANGRELION Luna and SSB are definitely stronger characters than Furious and Muwi. If you enjoy them and they get you where you need to be, no harm in investing in them. SSB is definitely a good PvE investment!

@@im_Tsu Good news! I was finally able to beat Wyvern 13 for the first time yesterday, shortly after I sent the last comment, and it was with my old f2p team, too! I guess changing my team formation is not a priority now, I even started a different hunt challenge: Banshee (do you happen to have a guide for that, too? I couldn't find it). I'll definitely build SSB and Luna, because my wyvern 13 run is still VERY inconscistent, as it depends on a lot of luck. Furious is still not a reliable defense breaker because, since I'm a beginner, I lack many of the key artifacts that would boost his chances to inflict that debuff, so if Luna doesn't rely on artifacts for her defense break, she might be better than furious even on that aspect (at least, until the time I get said artifacts). Thanks for your help. I've been watching many of your "how 2 play" videos, and they have been of great help. Could I ask something unrelated? I've been doing side stories to farm for catalysts, I used to be able to do one per day, but now, the game is asking me to wait for 12 days before I can play the next one. Did I do something wrong? Is there a limit per month? I looked in-game and online but couldn't find an explanation.

I just can't make it work for a 1 shot team... If I use Muwi, he puts defense break on the 1st round fodder and I can kill them before Sigret pops off her S3, but then I don't get the defense break on the Wyvern from him. If I use Taranor Guard instead: I can't kill the 1st round fodder before Sigret uses her S3 and then she obviously can't 1 hit Wyvern.

They are the best starting tanks for a newer player. As you get better gear, you want to progress towards General Purrgis if you can. From a pure damage mitigation stand point, Crozet and Rose are the best.

If I had included everyone, the video would have gone even longer than it's already long run time. I had to make cuts somewhere and characters like Chloe, Luna, Luluca and more had to be cut cause I don't think they are as impactful or require more investment than some other options.

She does but she adds super little to your team. Karin, Clarissa, Taranor Guard, Muwi... they all add soooo much more to the team in terms of utility and damage which means a much faster clear.

I think he meant to add 70% to the already base crit chance instead of the stat being exactly 70% at the end of gearing since I was wondering the same thing too but karin gives 15% only so it made no sense to leave the one shot team at chance

Poor Fairytale Tenebria not getting a mention for aoe dps with Victories Flag been clearing wave 1 with her effectively for my one shot comp. Not certain if her investment is lighter than units like ssb or clarissa but it felt like it was. Mine is at 3942 attack, 77 crit, 332 cdmg, and 178 speed with minimal effect 35%. +27 Victories Flag It does require one of the 2 minis to get redirect but once one of them gets it everything else dies. Was trying to find the least gear intensive unit for the aoe dps and I think it might be her

Muwi Clarissa Sigret Angelica(skip monmon all together she needs way to much investment to be better than angelica just not worth it anymore)/Diene(for late game) are simply the only unites you need to clear W13 early to mid game angelica in front for late game just switch her out with Diene when you manage to grab her and have you your Sigret's rage set strong enough to kill it on 2 turns for Sigret way before first shield phase you really don't need to invest for any other unites for Wivern specifically the introduction of Muwi just makes all 4 blue teams a lot more efficient for anyone be it veteran or new especially new players when all these 4 unites are so easy to get and non are ml unites and you dont need to have 210ish eff resist gear for a Singelica with the perfect speed tune on top of it
