I went to my silver dealer and purchased all of his available Junk Silver Quarters - Silver Washington Quarters to be more specific. Knowing that he rarely picks through them, I decided to buy them all in hopes of maybe adding a few upgrades to my album, or possibly scoring a better date or two. I did not expect to find so many amazing coins, including some better dates and even a few that I could add to my coin collection and coin albums with this purchase... In this video, I will search through all the old Silver coins from the bag. I will be looking for key dates, semi key dates, upgrades, and of course and varieties within the years I hunt. Hopefully you all enjoy this video! As always - Happy Hunting and Thanks for Watching AND keep Stacking that silver my friends!!! Wow - I bet that was a fun hunt! I've never seen a "junk silver" bag that had that many proofs - that was crazy! And that smaller bag had some amazing quarters! I know you don't hunt all of the varieties, but you had a nice stack of 1941-S quarters - did you search for the Large S variety? Another great video!

All I can say is WOW! I have never seen an accumulation of this many early Washington quarters. When I assembled a high grade Washington quarter set I had no problems finding a 1932-D or a 1932-S. They were everywhere and didn't seem to justify the high prices. The last three coins I had trouble finding in high grade were the 1936-D, the 1937-S and the 1940-D. It took me a couple of years to locate high grade examples of thise three. The last one I found was the 1940-D. None of my LCS had 1940-Ds in better than VG-F so I bought one on line.
@RobFindsTreasure11 ай бұрын
Yeah, the 1934-1940 quarters with mint marks are tough to find in high grade. I started my book 6 years ago and finally got a few upgrades!

In the pursuit of epic silver quarter bag searches and the acquisition of junk silver, one unearths not only tangible treasures but also delves into the intangible realms of history and human connection. How does this journey into the past through numismatic exploration contribute to our understanding of time, value, and the intricate threads that connect us across generations?

Wow, that must have been exciting for you. To tell you the truth, I almost don't like it when I get a super condition old quarter. Of course it doesn't happen very often, if ever. I don't collect sets nor numis coins. So there's not much I can do with them, if I get a wonderful condition 1952 quarter, I have to special-handle it in some way, and as you know, these coins have to be in truly stunning condition to be worth more than melt. So a super-condition one gets a flip and goes into a special coin box and just has to be handled in some special way as a onesie for the extra $2 it may fetch at some future date. Just ain't worth it, prefer not have to deal with it. Probably sounds weird to you.
@brandonlorch682511 ай бұрын
Yeah I don’t really understand that. It’s exciting to me get a high grade coin, but well circulated, not so much
@alanpecherer570511 ай бұрын
@@brandonlorch6825 Well, I'm an older guy (70) and I kind of went through my coin collecting phase in my younger years. They just don't light me up the way they once did. Plus, if you go to a coin show, you'll see that ordinary silver coins from the 40's-50's-60's have to be in absolutely incredible condition to be worth more than melt. And what is this thing about coins being "worth" something? Can you get that higher value out of them? Just because you see a price in the red book, is there someone out there who will give you that much for them? I am sure it would be different if I was engaged in the trade on a regular basis.

While I'm a sucker for a cool silver video, it's obvious the nature of this channel is changing a bit. Now that Rob has a coin business/website, we're getting more vids like this, where it's less "Rob Finds Treasure" and more like "Rob Buys Inventory", since you know lots of these coins are going either on the website or being auctioned at the end of his live streams. So while these are some stunning examples of old silver, it's not the reason I started watching the channel. For those who are licking their chops at potentially buying some of this stash, this is an awesome video. But seeing the emphasis slowly shift away from coin roll hunting to this is disappointing. Rob will always do coin search vids, but let's face it, he sees the potential to make money, and good for him, so it's in his interest to do more of these vids. It's just not what old school CRHers like me are looking for.
@RobFindsTreasure11 ай бұрын
I hear you brother and am sorry that you are disappointed. Roll hunts are still and will always be a big part of my content, but I have always done Junk Silver Hunts as well. I bought a lot recently and wanted to do videos on them - I know it feels like more lately, but it won't always be like that. To any extent, we've got a nice penny hunt video coming out today and a nickel hunt on Thursday. Hope you stick around to enjoy them.
