Don't worry, I've learned my lesson about the 'all welcome' lobbies. Just today I entered one and had the boss of the lobby set the minimum OS rating to one above my own so I couldn't 'shit up the game' for them. Wish I'd found your content before I made the Reddit post, because it's always so wholesome and encouraging. Keep it up, man. I'll keep practicing so that I'm hopefully some day welcome into the elite 'all noobies welcome' straits pubstomps.

I think this applies to most games with a learning curve. A solid matchmaking system fixed this issue so we just stick it out for now :)

The community is very welcoming to new players if they say that they are new and if they bothered to learn the basic before going online e.g. taking mexes and building energy before making a storage for it and not going t2/t3 of 5 solar panels and a windill. I met a new player, that didn't think he was new, so he expected to buy a t2 con and then go for a fusion with only 2 solar panels and 4 windmills xD So you have to acknowlegde that you are new and be willing to learn the hard way, but besides that they are very polite :)

Commandos make great frontline combat engineers and jammers. They are great for reclaim and building with their long build range, and can build t1 jammers, while being jammer so people don't spot them building and Junos can't get them, and the dragon maw is an excellent defense against spam. Definitely recommend for that role, and mines, along with the scouts they bring.

This is a great example that T3 units are NOT for being the sole composition of a push unless things are in your favor (lack of adequate defenses, hole in radar coverage etc etc). If things are aggressively at a standstill when everyone is doing everything they can a well-placed couple of T3 units can give the edge necessary. Otherwise a doom stack of T3 is just a waste of resources. What caused red team to lose (beyond the low skill level) was the lack of communication and intel. No pings, no drawing, nothing aside from resource requests until it would be way too late. No forward radar / radar jamming etc

You have to toggle on the "extra units pack" setting under advanced options>experimental settings

"Demon, the Flamethrower Mech." When I was trying out 3rd party units for OTA, I ran into this awesome CORE TL3 Kbot called the Archdemon. Essentially, a gargantuan Pyro, it can darken the enemy's sky with their ashes, as long as it gets close enough. Nice to see that here.

the hot pink player delayed the northern team's victory by about 30 minutes. played the game without doing anything other than spamming t1. a bot would've been more effective. didn't even adjust their waypoints...

Instead of focusing on the "EPIC" units, you proceed to watch t1 spam die to static defense, and miss everything they are doing. Also if you are going to highlight a game with these units active, maybe click on them, and show some more information. Would be much more relevant.

I primarily play Coretex so instead of LLTs late game I end up converting my allies advanced metal extractors into advanced exploiters. They get the same metal production but end up with a massive tank of an extractor that does really good dps vs ground and air. It's wasteful early/mid game but in the late late game economy it's basically done for nothing.

So, if I were to suggest some changes for BAR to help give each faction a little more uniqueness to their identities and unit design language: Cortex; Lasers, Heavy Lasers, Heat Rays. They're a lot like the Amarr from EVE, a big, slow, heavily armored, inexorable tide. Armada: Plasma, Missiles, Tachyon Beams They're supposed to be all about outthinking your opponents, so lightly armored, fast, with tons on indirect fire weapons; artillery, mortars, stealthy units, etc. Legion: Gatlings, Napalm, something else... swarm missiles? They seem to be mostly about drones, and their early eco isn't great, but can snowball quickly. Make their units the cheapest, with paper thin armor, but let them pump out like 4x faster with spray&pray weapons.

@@ninjez07 even with deflect all enabled, T3 tachyon beams and heat rays already deal enough damage to pierce right through them unhindered, and a Lolcannon with enough power supply smashes them apart just fine. No extra changes needed.

@@RevokFarthis I see what you are saying, but it negates eg a Razorback push talking out a deflector, or a fiend run by - it means you HAVE to overpower it with something very big, which reduces options and makes static defence much more powerful.
