What I loved most about this video were the nods to the original, in the way Tim and Peter were posed as they were singing and most especially the final clip of Tim lifting his hand to his hair, in the same way Art Garfunkel did on the cover of their Bookends album. I'm not a huge fan of Peter Hollens, but I do have to applaud him for his ability to see who will make his songs sound amazing!!! He takes 2 people & turns them into an capella group. Tim Foust's amazing bass manages to make Peter's sound suddenly turn amazing as well. I knew this version was going to be good, but I love the way they made it GREAT!!! ☺️ ❤️ 👏 💯 🤩

That was excellent! It sounded like they stayed mostly true to the original Simon & Garfunkel harmony parts, including one section where Tim seemed to have dropped Art Garfunkel's soaring vocal an octave with the melody while Peter did Paul Simon's harmony above it. Nice! I always loved this song from the S&G original, and now I have three new cover versions to love for different reasons... this one, the PTX cover, and the Disturbed cover. All great in their own ways.

Peter Hollens true gift always appears when he gets to paint with the bass brush. He has a gift for layering sound, but most of the time it's his tenor. Letting him access to the lower tones brings his arrangements more vibrancy and depth.

I have listened to the sound of silence my entire life. Big fan of Simon and Garfunkel. I'm a hug fan of home free. Peter Hollens is also amazing. This is a beautiful acapella rendition of sound of silence. I love the original too, but still think the most impactful version of the song was done by Disturbed. I love all three versions but I feel differently when I listen to each different version of this song. Amazing. Not often you find music that can do that. Rock on dude.

This is very close to the original, and I love it. Peter has some amazing music out there. My mouth fell open when I listened to the Warcraft Medley he did with his wife. I love the Boy Band Parody he has with Paint. He also has a couple of videos feat. Home Free and c few more with just Tim. Enjoyed your reaction as usual, thanks! ^_^

Listen to things from Home Free, any time he teams up with someone. Also if you're willing to give Peter Hollens another chance, check out Tim and Peter doing Misty Mountains. It's slightly nerdy (It's a Lord of the Rings song) but it is terrific.

I'm surprised frequently when people state they've never heard a classic that's been around for a long time. That's why this format is wonderful for people's exposure. (Of course, I've been around for a long time.) I'm happy that folks can hear & be inspired to look into older music & the artists who created those sounds that have pulled them in.

I had the same reaction about Peter in the beginning, but when he gets together with Tim...they seem to create pure magic. I love that Disgrosting? lol! I loved it. Between your facial expressions and these new fandangled words, you've made me laugh so hard. When you rewound it almost to the beginning, I started to laugh, and then you gave me that stink face. I felt like I'd just got caught with my hand in the cookie jar, and sobered, then started to laugh hysterically again. Don't ever stop what you're doing, you're absolutely brilliant at it! And BTW- These two have several collaborations together, but Greensleeves is my favorite. Thanks for making my day brighter.

Peter Hollens has a beautiful voice and he's absolute genius at arrangement, and putting all the tracks together; his and Tim's voices mesh perfectly. I'm a real stickler when it comes to covers of songs I loved when I heard the original. The Sound of Silence was one I fell in love with in my teens; the original by Simon and Garfunkle. I was very hesitant/skeptical about covers. PTX changed my mind on that, so I was willing to give a few others a try, including this one. While I thoroughly acknowledge and appreciate their talents, including the videography, this probably isn't one I'll listen to over and over and over again, like I have the others. I have, and will continue to, watch their rendition of Misty Mountain; it's definitely my favorite of their collaborations.

Great reaction as always! I've found that I can take or leave Peter UNLESS he's performing a duet with Tim. I don't know if it's how they blend or something else, but I love everything that I've heard them do together. I've never particularly cared for Greensleeves until I heard their version.
