Concernant les marquages, il est dit dans la vidéo qu'ils sont d'origine, c'est un avion construit après la seconde guerre, c'est le dernier en état de marche qui a participé à la guerre de Corée

@@Warbirds I had seen a F4U-7 in French Navy paintjob at Chino 1978 and it ruled the show....I thought. Besides FiFi flying around at that show this Corsair I speak of and yours there have the prettiest sound.

Regarding the markings, it is said in the video that they are original. It is an aircraft built after the Second World War and the last operational one that participated in the Korean War.

The “N” designation, F4U-5N, indicated the night fighter version. The Grumman Hellcat in its later version could also be so equipped, in which case it was designated, F6F-5N. Both such variants had radar pods either built onto the leading edge of the wing or as a hung pod under the wing. I don’t see either on this Corsair, so what explains the “N” designation.

@@Warbirds Interessant. Also auch nicht das originale Triebwerk. Ich hatte neulich mal etwas geforscht. Aktuell gibt es glaube ich nur eine einzige fliegende -5 Corsair, die auch den originalen R2800-W32 motor hat. Er soll nochmal einen deutlich stärkeren Lader Sound haben. Ist auch eigentlich der Grund warum die -5 Corsair die zwei seitlichen Lufteinläufe an der Schnautze haben und nicht einen zentralen.

Die meisten benutzen heute R-2800 Motoren der CB-Reihe, da diese noch am meisten verfügbar und am ausgereiftesten sind, da sie in Airlinern wie der DC-6 zum Einsatz kamen.

@@klausmuller8180 Korrekt. Die Motoren sind zwar etwas anders ausgelegt, aber für den Airshowbetrieb und die leichteren Flugzeuge ohne Bewaffnung und Panzerung völlig ausreichend.

Wir waren am Sonntag da. War ganz schön frisch und nass! War sehr gut organisiert. Allerdings hat das durchgehende, pausenlose und laute gelaber abartig genervt. Werde nie verstehen warum man das bei solchen Veranstaltungen macht.
