A buddy of mine has a 2018 Frontier Pro4X, he is turning it into a overlanding rig. I shared this video with him so he can get some ideas. I love winter camping, no bugs and not a lot of people to bug you. I live in Georgia, so we dont get a lot of snow, but I do like to camp in the snow. I have the Decked Drawers in my Gladiator, I love that set up. I will have to get me a diesel heater. Great video

I love winter camping and wheeling as well. It's so peaceful and fun. If you're interested, I just got back from a weekend trip last weekend to Michigan during that big snow storm they had. Wow, what a great trip. Kind of funny that your fire pit was frozen to the ground. Also, possibility use the heat from the diesel heater to defrost your ladders. Just a thought. And at least the third pizza came out so you could eat it but that’s what all the enjoyment of winter camping or summer camping the stories are the best part. Thanks for really releasing this on my birthday. I enjoyed it Feb 9 watching it with my morning coffee.

Shoreline bar and grill , great place to stop for food and entertainment , something always going on at that place all 4 seasons long . And nice to watch the people fishing in summer winter or ice skating or whatever it may be 🎉❤

Love the video buddy. I'm from Wisconsin and I have gone camping in the mountaine area numerous times awesome area. Drive down firelands off of highway T and check out Perch lake great campsite in the backwoods.

Honestly, I hadn't. But on the way home from this trip, it was a combo of melting snow and salt that kept caking up my windows so after that, I'm kind of starting to think about options just so it's not so dangerous. Had to stop a few times to clean the windows because I couldn't see to merge lanes.

Too cold, but love the snow. My Xterra works very well in snow. Never used my Coleman oven over flames if that's what happened, works ok on camp stove. Some people use a pizza stone in the bottom, haven't done that. I'm now learning to use pie irons, and pizza in that was acceptable to my dog.

I need to work harder on my cooking skills. Would love to eat some delicious stuff in the woods but usually end up with canned chili or Mountain House, 😂.

@@WildcatPhoto Foil is a great way to do a lot of things! I think I need to start by preparing stuff ahead of time and bagging it. If it's simple and easy to drop something in a skillet at camp, I'm more likely to do it, :D.

Hey awesome video I’m looking at doing some “overlanding” and camping in my 2015 Silverado (I added spacers up front to negate the rake and it’s got oversized tires/ besides that stock). Any tips and any opinions on trails in and around Illinois/Wisconsin?

Thanks! Honestly, my best advice would be to hop on Facebook (if you're on there, I know it's annoying) and find Overlanding groups for those states. I know there's a Wisconsin Overlanding group because I've jumped into some of their group trips before and it's full of awesome people. Those local groups though often do trail rides and camp outs so that's probably the easiest way to get going.

What diesel heater mount are you using ?

I made my own with a couple of long M8 bolts and these knobbed handles that screw onto them: amzn.to/41jLeZ3. I basically put the back of the bolts through the side of the diesel heater case with some big washers to make sure they didn't pull through and then use the hand crank knobs to tighten it down for travel, then pull it off when I get to camp, flip it to the outside of the rack and put the knobs on the inside to hold it on there.
