I agree 👍. I wasn't expecting such enduring and vicious fight from both. I respect both fighters. They gave everything. Angela came back strong despite early set backs, however her determination psyche of not giving up showed what a tough fighter she is. She is capable of dominating the scene provided she remains focused.

Angela was the aggressor but Xiong was landing more with the counters. And she knocked Lee down twice from shots. Was still a close and great fight and both fighters should be proud of their performance.

Everytime Lee closed in for a takedown, she was rocked by Xiong's swings. Besides, Lee couldn't hold Xiong down for long, her grappling fizzled. Both kept their safe distances learned from the previous two fights. The puncher avoided the grappler's grappling and grappler avoided the puncher's punching. There were no running around for life.

She wasn't running for her life, it's called timing shots. She's not better than Lee on the ground so has to be careful about overextending. She also knows that Lee is most comfortable on the ground or in the clench trying to work to the ground. So she stayed close the fence to fight of takedowns and looked to counter punch. She countered Lee a lot and Lee also seemed to miss a lot. Honestly it's the best strategy against someone who is a superior grappler. Lee's biggest mistake was not pushing for the take down enough.

However, I do agree that Xiong was definitely taking Lee’s punches with ease, but those were detouring Xiong from her original game plan. But yeah both of them adjusted perfectly.. but didn’t Lee get revenge for the knock down?

What is wrong with Angela Lee’s coaches ? She is still taking far too many clean punches in the stand up ! I’ve watched all 3 of her fights against Xiong , and watched her walk in with hands down , and horrible boxing defense . If I were her , I’d fire my coach , and get somebody that can actually train her boxing , and hone her skills

I don't think she's fast/fluid enough to be a good striker, or have even decent head movement. She's an amazing grappler, but she doesn't seem to be all that athletic/explosive. Even her footwork is very slow and telegraphed. She also doesn't hit hard, so her striking has no redeeming qualities if I'm going to be harsh but honest. Its mediocre to bad, especially for this level of competition.

My girl lacks the speed of her opponent. Angela's doesn't have the hand speed to box with her nemesis. And she lacks the strength to throw her down. But Angela's kicks and knees are superior. I thought Angela won this one.

The first round was Xiong's but Angela made a good come back and got back up. Then Angela took control of the rounds to come.

She didn't thou, she was only chasing Xiong most of the time. She was aggressive but she landed little to no clean hits while Xiong kept throwing counter punches. You don't earn points by chasing or throwing punches that don't connect. If you look at the pacing and their stamina, Xiong was in better control the whole time. Lee was desperate to land hits because she was lagging behind after the first round and ended up opening herself up alot of times.

I had Xiong winning most rounds of the fight as well... I was surprised to see Lee celebrating as if she won at the sound of the final bell. Xiong dominated, refused to "go ground" most of the time -which was a excellent strategy because Lee ground game has always been top notch. The more tattoos Lee seems to get, the more she seems to slow down -just a wee bit... Age may be catching up with her. And although Xiong may not be the prettiest and the "cookie cutter cutout model" that most fighting organizations desire for ratings, what (in my opinion) she lacks there, she MORE THAN makes up for it in her fighting ability and is definitely one hell of a fighter! Dude, what do you expect? Xiong to grapple with Lee? Lee is the superior grappler, Xiong simply had the better strategy to avoid letting Lee play her best game and kept her at range to trade punches which Xiong is better at. Lee had no answer to her opponent's strategy, she got out played and its her lost. So many clueless commenters here. Even someone casuals like me know that Xiong already won by miles ahead on the first round. After that she just needs to defend her advantages and make sure Angela won't able to score any big points to come back. It's correct strategic decision. Angela playing catch up the whole time. It doesn't matter when she only slightly won the subsequent rounds, she needed to score big points to win which she failed to do.

they stole her fight. she clearly won the lady in white. she dominated the entire fight except for round 1. she was the aggressive force, constantly attacking and cornering her opponent. she even managed to knock down xiong a couple of times 2 or 3. she landed numerous kicks and blows that made the audience exclaim in shock. lee clearly won rounds 2, 3 & 4, while she lost round 1. the last round 5 was decisive and yet lee ended in style in the end, showing her confidence as the winner. to much regret and to everyone's surprise, the judges gave the win to xiong. let us observe carefully that xiong was always running back in defense and getting trapped and pushed against the ropes where lee demonstrated her superior skills. take a look at all those leg and knee kicks and blows that lee landed. observe also how lee grabbed xiong's legs and at the very end she even managed to climb on top of xiong! on the other hand xiong had her moments of glory, she caught lee with various swings that landed face on on lee's face and head. xiong clearly beat lee in round 1. yet her overall performance was not good enough to defeat lee, she kept playing into defense and not really attacking or taking control of the center stage. she allowed lee to overwork and tire her as she continuously keept running backwards and being pressed against the fence. how in the freaking world can the judges have possibly given the win to Xiong then??? lee should file a protest and seek a reversal of the judges' incorrect decision. if MMA is to become the corrupt world of boxing in stealing wins from hard working fighters, then the public will lose faith in the sport and not watch it anymore. the comments below also support the view that viewers are in agreement by majority that Lee won this match. very disappointed. a waste of viewer time, despite the fact that the fight was exciting and entertaining.

Bruh.... that's not how fights work. You don't earn points for chasing and throwing punches that don't connect. Being aggressive doesn't win you game if the defensive player lands more counter punches. Xiong won simply because she didn't play aggressive and threw her lead away, she was the smarter fighter playing like that because she knows she is the better boxer and Lee is the better grappler. She kept a distance and prevented Lee from playing her submission game too much. Even when Lee was able to grab Xiong a few times, she did little to no damage, grabbing her legs and climbing on top of her doesn't earn points if you cannot land hits or cause damage. Btw from 6:14 to 6:27, none of the knees landed clean, Xiong basically blocked all of them. She might not have earn points from that, even if she did its probably very little. I know its frustrating to see defensive players win but that's just how fights are, its the same as Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao. Xiong is the better player in this fight for the strategy she employed. I have no doubt if Lee gets to play her submission game she can win but unfortunately she had no answers to Xiong's strategy and is forced into a mostly boxing match that Xiong is better at and she lost fair and square.

​@@wishiwascycling To be accurate, Xiong was fighting not to lose the lead in points she had from the first round and Angela is fighting to chase that gap. Unfortunately, Lee doesn't have control of the game. Being aggressive and on the chase doesn't mean you are in control. In fact its Xiong that had total control throughout the match. Because fighting is not about being aggressive or who throw the most punches. Instead the scoring is based on hits that actually connects or land clean. Xiong knows Lee have no choice but to play catch up and aggressive so she switch to defensive play, doing counter punches. Even if Lee manages to strike her, chances she gets connection too, maintaining her points lead. Also to note, Lee is a better grappler and Xiong is a better boxer. Keeping Lee at range and playing mostly strikes is a great strategy to prevent Lee from player her best submission game. Fight IQ is a big part of the game. Btw, submissions do not give points. Even if you managed to takedown opponents it doesn't mean anything unless you are able to choke or lock them to do damage. 6:14 to 6:27 for example, Lee put Xiong in a hold and did numerous knees strikes. However, almost everyone one of them got parried and did no damage to Xiong. This is why its deceiving to audiences who don't know the sport well. Lee got little to no points there even if she was aggressive or looked as thou she was in the upperhand. But in reality, that position was pretty much neutral for both of them. Immediately after that exchange you can see Xiong came out strong and fresh, unaffected. Lee on the other hand looked like she lost alot of stamina for her aggressive play.

Jing Nan is a dangerous striker, but Lee did a good job controlling the pace of the match, and even wore out Jing Nan a little bit via grappling! I'm a newbie but to me Angela Lee was almost a complete fighter. May Lee enjoy her retirement for now!

@@evermoore66665 Yeah, by a bad decision. Having said that, if Angela had a defence she would have easily won that fight. She allowed far too many of those overhand rights tro contact and didn't adequately punish her opponent for them. I still would have given it to Lee though.

@@PeteH0121 Xiong is the better boxer and Lee is the better grappler, the results show for itself in the first 2 fights even in this 3rd. However, in this fight, Xiong's strategy is better, she played the keep away game, prevented Lee from playing her best submission game. Lee simply wasn't prepared enough, its like she had no answers for Xiong's keep away game.

Bruh.. she isn't running away, she is counter punching. She is playing defensive. Why should she take risk and open herself up after getting a big lead in the first round? Especially when her opponent is a submission specialists. Fight IQ is a massive part of the game, by playing keep away, she prevented Lee from playing her best submission game and it forces Lee to play aggressive and be opened to counter punches.
