"Abyss Of Time - Countdown To Singularity" is the first single from their new album OMEGA that will be out February 26th 2021, so you can't react to any other song from that record yet. Nevertheless, I would suggest you react to "Kingdom Of Heaven" and "The Quantum Enigma (Kingdom Of Heaven - Part II)" since we're getting Part III on the new album and the first two are already absolute masterpieces !

Simone is one of the main singers on the new album Transitus by Ayreon. The whole album is on the channel of Arjen Anthony Lucassen, including two video’s with Simone; This human equation. I sill don’t like the growling but Simone sounds beautiful as does the music.

You should react to more epica. They have become heavier in their last two albums (the quantum enigma and the holographic principle). Some songs have elements that resemble death metal or black metal.

It took me some time to understand the video, specially the man and the girl part. She is the representation of Nature, when the man sees her in the eye, he experiences Catharsis. He realizes he's one with nature and cries. EPICA has been adding death/black/prog metal parts in their songs for years. Check out Ascension Dream State Armageddon, Victims of Contingency, The Essence of Silence has a great headbangong breakdown in the middle followed by a solo, Semblance of Liberty or Divide and Conquer. Amazing songs all of them!!

Johnny! I really love that you know how to dissect metal so well! (actually music in general)... As for this song, its amazing! love it... and you know, EPICA has actually been incorporating this sound since the last couple of albums... and one thing they are actually well known for is their kick ass technicality and transitions within their songs. In their early albums they were more organic and melodic (but still epic), but you start noticing the shift as early as 2007 in their album The Divine Conspiracy with kick ass songs like Fools of Damnation that incorporated a lot of the elements presented in this new song (which is quite awesome to realize).. the title track of that same album for me has THE GROOVIEST little metal section towards the later half of the song in my opinion... but yea, in their last album The Holographic Principle, one of the sickest breakdowns is in the song Divide and Conquer, it gets so heavy you can picture a freaking earthquake with it! lol I love this band lol I've also seen them quiteeee a few times and Simone herself was like hey you're eddsilver right?? I pretty much died that night! lmao

In general i'm more a Simone than Epica fan since i don't like growling that much and i think in a lot Epica songs there is too much growling or Simone is just overpowered by shredding. But in this song the balance is quite OK for me. Still my favorite Epica song is this : kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4vbeH-Jj8-qmdE 😍 Also love Ayreons last 2 videos with Simone as Angel of Death, nice to see her a bit more sassy instead of her playing the Ice Queen like she normally does at Epica.

@@evanwayland Yeah then beside what i said above also listen to "Tides of Time", thats really a nice song with slow start and then at the end gets really epic but only Simone sings. Sadly there is not really a great live version of it, most are just mobile records and at the end they can't handle the power properly, so listen to the studio version.

Great reaction Johnny and yes that break down is indeed something new ... I like this song ... and i hope to get to their concert next year ... Their new album should be there on 26th February 2021 but in these days it could be earlier or later you'll never know .. But overall i get more and more in to them and they are amazing on every record they make... Das Stück entwickelt sich bei mir zu nem echten Ohrwurm, hatte das schon vor Tagen nach dem erstsen Hören oft im Kopf, wusste da dann aber oftmals nichtmal genau was es war und dachte teilweise "verdammt, welcher Nightwish Song ist das nochmal", und heute auf dem Weg zum Einkaufen auch wieder die ganze Zeit 😃 Natürlich ist es der chorus und nicht das growlen, wobei ich mich frage kann man growling als Ohrwurm haben ? Irgendwie hat das für mich meist fast noch weniger Melodie wie Rap und da ist irgendwie nichts was bei mir im Kopf wirklich kleben bleibt sondern es ist mehr oder weniger "alles das gleiche" (Asche über mein Haupt).
