I was there. The entire show was amazing. Epica was doing a dual headline tour with Apocalyptica, so they both played an entire set. This was already scheduled before the whole Pandemic thing, so I had the tickets for about 3 years at that point, but it was well worth the wait!

And also waited 3 years for Nightwish, Evanescence ( and Within temptation) 3 shows in 2 months ... our patience was tested ;) but soooo worth it.

Apocalyptica was on tour with EPICA when this was filmed in January 2023, at the AFAS concert venue in Amsterdam. From the most recent album, Omega. Simone and a choir performed it acapella at the Omega Alive virtual show.

They did that acapella version at their 20th anniversary show last year in 013 Tilburg as well... also a beautifull version!! 😊😊🙂

Fun reaction, thanks! This was in AFAS Amsterdam, the venue holds 6000 people. I was near the stage, and wow, those flames are hot. Production value of both shows (Apocalyptica and Epica, double headliners) was really high.

I was at this concert in the Afas concert hall. In the front, and the whole evening was amazing. Simone is a fantastic singer and a lovely person ❤🔥. Epica and apocalyptica were both headlining the evening and did this song together. Great stuff

I remember when Apocalyptica started their career... They played as a quartet then, not a trio. They started with covers, I still have original audiotape. Lots of distortion but you only played them, great, worth a listen. It wasn't until later that they added drums and vocals and became a trio. And Epica is Epica, just great. Beautyful Simone voice! Thx

EPICA….what else can one say? Greatest of symphonic metal bands. Simone has perfect pitch. By the way her mic stand is in an S shape for her name. On this tour they did an Apocalyptica song with Simone Rise Again, live from London….talk about chills and feels! Great reaction guys!

this song is written by Epica bassist so bassists still have a hope :) Epica did similar song (Tides of Time) way back in 2009, when in the end of beautiful ballad full band kicked in

Such a beautifull version of an allready great song!!! At their 20th anniversary show at 013 Tilburg they did another version, an acapella version, which was really great as well. Love this song... doesn't matter which version!!! 😍😍😍 By the way, the Dutch symphonic/gothic metalband Blackbriar has a really nice microphone stand as well.
