Amanda has a great voice and stage presence and Simone has great stage presence, a lot of charisma. I never really liked any female metal singers, but now I love Simone. My favorite singers have always been Dio and Halford because they are the best, and are other worldly talent.

i would rather the old religion with their original belief in the Nordic gods. there is a sense of honor and and epic ancient feel about them, Jesus and Christianity are children compared to the age of belief in the gods, and i hold the old faith dear to me, and allot of Epica's songs have messages and passages from the old tails. In breif, Seif Al Din is Arabic for sword of faith, and was the nickname of a famous and popular Egyptian sultan. when mongol and christian armies invaded he gathered his army before they reached Egypt and defeated them. He continued to repel them from the cities they had captured across the middle east and appointed leaders to them. He was assassinated on his journey home, but is still very highly thought of esp. by Muslim Historians.

if you live n a muslim country and read the quran, you would know that the verb used in that verse is DARABA which can mean hit but thee first meaning is to forsake, or split, or depart... the same verc is used 58 times in the quran, and only in this verse people like to interpret it as hit but not in the rest of 57 times. i have read the quran in arabic i'm a translator (arabic, hebrew, french, swedish to Finnish)

I read some of the comments here, declaring that in holy Quran, they found some violent verses. I'm a muslim myself, and wont blame anyone that thinks like that. Holding faith to certain religion always have some risks, and that is one of the risk we have to take. Humanity evolve through wars. Through wars we know the value of peace. Cant say that peace will be kept forever, but being optimistic is needed. We can avoid wars through understanding each other. Different religion, but still same humanity.

I am a Muslim, and I like Epica (and I saw them live in Jakarta last year). But honestly I don't like this song. IMHO, I think they should not include the Shahada in there. But I understand that what they are talking about is extremism. I believe that extremism is bad, and that Islam teaches moderation in everything. BTW, I am Indonesian, and in this country (which is a country with the most Muslim populations) does not support extremism. I am grateful I live here. Talking about religion is sensitive. We think we are all right. The Quran says, "Lakum dinukum wa-liya dini", meaning "Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion". There's no need to fight, we believe what we believe.

No, this is Amanda Somerville, the chorus leader of Epica, one of the fouder of the Aina project, and the woman that replaced Simone when she was ill some times ago. She's a great friend of the band but not in the 6 "official band" which includes: Simone, Mark, Ad, Yves, Coen and Arien.
