To learn about Bhopal's rich culinary tradition was fantastic. Most interesting for me was the mention of Sultan Jahan Begam. She was the one who funded the construction of a guesthouse for George Marshall where, he did his research and the Begam also aided him in publishing his book. So in a nutshell, not just food of Bhopal, these begam rulers of Bhopal have left their mark on the city and shown what it takes to govern the city well and moreover, to rule people's hearts.

Great job ,No words to say.I lived in Bhopal for more than 15years and all the time we were looking for a cuisine that defined Bhopal.Bhopal is full of outsiders now, and the Bhopal culture has shrunk to the old city,Since I was born in Lucknow and now live in Hyderabad ifeel there should be a jash ne Bhopal for the masses,I miss Bhopal,it's lakes and the warmth of the Bhopalis,the large hearted people ready to embrace others. love and blessings to all who worked on this project.

D...there is one article which inspired me a lot penned by Sunil Gavaskar. He wrote his musing before Imran Khan becoming PM. It was a sunny afternoon in London where lunch was enjoyed by both of them. Sunil Gavaskar revealed that he was about to retire.Imran Khan rather than jumping with joy,was pensive.He besseched Gavaskar not to do it.Within 10 days,the Pakistani team was announced but today I admire Imran Khan's boldness. He opted to face the challenge where infront of Indian Umpires,turning tracks,wonderful Indian batsmen master in playing spun,hostile crowd yet he fought rather than hearing the taunts of Pakistani crticis that he didn't defeat the Indian team which had Gavaskar,Mohinder Amarnath and without it, Pakistani team wouldn't have become such a strong fighting team. Winning on the terms and conditions of enemies is wonderful.Ofcourse Pakistan won in 1986 test series.

First of all regret having.seen this vdo on Bhopali cuisine now. It's beautiful depiction of how bhopali cuisine evolved over a period of time, compelled many times by circumstances in history. Two cuisines which are again unique to Bhopal are Churrui ( which is dried fat , charbi of animals taken during shikar , very similar to shukhad & stuffed shami kebab, though shammi kebab are popular across Muslim homes , the famous shikhampuri version of Hyderabad too is delicious, but the stuffing in Bhopal comprising of raw onion finely chopped & mixed with podina ie mint leaves add a disctint flavor & taste to the meat kebab. Let's have an annual authentic bhopali food festival , where our cuisine is promoted & popularized.
