It feels my heart with warmth,wonder, and pleasant feeling every time I come here and listen to your tender analysis of chess games, I mean, chess in itself is a very arid spectacle tale but your way of choosing vocabulary and sprinkling the words to describe are just so unique and fun to listen to.. thanks in advance, and I wish prosperity and further success for your channel.

Nice game . Black clearly hoped to get knight vs rook endgame, which would be draw, but that one extra white pawn in final line was too much to handle 11:09 Rook showed its strenght in endgame. To kill all black pawns and to push black king on last rank, pretty much out of the battlefield was easy

Maggs really does have a 12 rook long member! What domination again. If he wanted to still be "champion" he would be. No one takes that crown for years if he didnt decide to walk away, and he walked away to have fun competing in all other areas of the game. If he stayed as champ then hed probably defend it 5 or 6 more times easily. But he went gentleman mode and allowed ian and ding to compete for a big trophy which 2nd place normally would never get

I play chess as the most basic beginner level. I make many blunders, but I had gotten bored with the standard openings and trying various "plow" techniques to just evade the whole center to make their first few moves trivial with pressure at the sides. Basically I found either I smashed through or got blocked up and kind of congested in my corner but was a lot of fun. At my skill though its still bad chess I am sure.
@epicchess202111 ай бұрын
Nice yeah it’s a lot of fun
@jacobe194210 ай бұрын
Until meta changes for the opening center, it basically makes the white player get the second move making them the defense but they still did take the difrst move, and it comes into play later... tricky stuff for a master to pull off. @@epicchess2021

At 5:01, what would be wrong with Nf6 check (and fork), BxN; PxB, PxP; Rg3 check ?
@Christoff070 Жыл бұрын
Good attacking idea, but black can take the knight with the pawn first. So; nf6+ gxf6 ef6 bxf6 This way the bishop recaptures and can defend the black king. Also note that even with the line u mentioned, black can just sidestep with king and then bring his rook to g8. If white tries rh3 to threaten checkmate on h7 black also has f5 to block the diagonal, and white doesn't have enough fire-power near the black king to maintain the attack
@Christoff070 Жыл бұрын
Edit: that should be Bxf6 not bxf6

I prefer 'hit', language would be very boring if we only ever spoke in literal terms! I don't believe that the result of the game dictates whether a game is worth covering, is one point, a second is that I am basically just putting out Magnus' daily games right now regardless of result simply cuz that's what ppl wanna see right. But yeah if the videos are pissing you off then sorry to hear that and probably best to skip in future!

I don't know, is he preparing for candidates again with this kind of variations and troll the world! ? What can we expect from a person who didn't even try to defend his crown because he thought (rightfully) others are too weak for him. I can see a future Magnus vs Ding championship with Magnus playing dubious openings and still winning. While watching Ding vs Nepo last time, they both were out of theory as soon as after move 6 or 7. Fabi was very critical about that if you remember.

@@epicchess2021I know. But I just wish that if he really wants to have fun, why not play this kind of dubious way and still win the candidates and probably the trophy too 😊 tbh Magnus is so much ahead, he probably can.

Magnus has stated that he didn't defend his crown because he "didn't like the format". He thought the 14 or so classical games over a couple weeks was either boring or annoying.
@arkzbh Жыл бұрын
@@Patrick462 yups.. that's why it would so entertaining to watch him play some absurd moves just to make sure his opponent has think for long and the clock situation becomes equal. 😃 Magnus would dominate either way. (Except probably for our fashion guy Alireza 😁) Tbh, it is boring for any person as spectators too. No one can invest 7/8 hours a day just to watch a chess match.
