Hello to your family. How beautiful is this national park and the nature is spectacular, but why are there no tourists except? The park was so beautiful that at least 1000 families should have visited it!

FWIW, that campsite at about 6:00 was still within the park. If you'd gone a little further towards the treeline you would have been outside the park. Back past the little cabin in the treeline you used to be able to do a fabulous river crossing (much more than the ones you did to get there), but it's been gated for the past year. Oh, and "bison"! :-)

Fantastic video. Thank you John D. Rockefeller Jr. for buying up, and ultimately saving the Tetons for all time and donating the land to the National Park Service. I think however, that he would be swirling in his grave if he knew a commercial airport was at the base of the Tetons, essentially within the National Park. That airport should never have been allowed to be built there.
@rongafron22043 жыл бұрын
If I remember the history of the Park correctly, the land where the airport was built wasn't a part of the original park land, but was absorbed during an expansion in the 1940's. When I started going out there in 1970, the airport was basically a garage with a big wooden table where they'd toss luggage, backpacks, etc. Frontier had a few prop plane flights each day, but the airport was mostly used by rich folks who flew in on private jets. Once skiers discovered the Jackson Hole ski area, it was only a matter of time until the airport expanded. At this point it's become one of those areas where the people who work there can't afford to live there.
