***When I first had chickens I went out to collect the eggs. As I’m cracking them into a bowl I thought something was wrong with them. I thought they weren’t good, not ok to eat. The yoke was a vibrant orange color that I had never seen before in the eggs I always purchased from the store. So I kept throwing them out. My husband had chickens growing up, I didn’t. So when I told him that I was throwing away all the chicken eggs because the yoke was a vibrant orange color, he laughed. He told me they are suppose to be that color. He explained the difference between store purchased eggs and our fresh chicken eggs from the back yard. There is a big difference in taste between fresh eggs straight from your own chickens then even the organic cage free eggs purchased from the store.***

***I enjoyed this video. I just wanted to add, I’m a retired medic. I don’t want to sound like a sad Susan here. However to anyone who drives recreational vehicles, atv, dirt bikes etc etc… please wear a helmet. Especially with all those trees I see in this video. The amount of calls we responded to regarding accidents from people getting severely hurt or killed because they didn’t have a helmet on. Countless accidents. People don’t realize that even traveling at a lower speed can and does cause severe head injuries. Most calls we responded to were children and teenagers. Please wear a helmet and make sure your children have one as well. Don’t worry about looking silly if that’s the problem. You’ll look a heck of a lot different with the side of your face drooping (facial paralysis) from head trauma. So please I urge you to wear a helmet and your children as well.***

Looks like a nice rig, but very surprised at the lack of outside storage availability. Unfortunate problem with pop-top campers is the short door. How is the dust leakage into the camper on gravel roads with the pop-top style? Price is very prohibitive and hopefully includes the price of the truck/chassis.

A good investment would be to invest in a petrol driven conveir to transport your wood from barge to your island and then store it away around the othe4 side of island out of the way

Careful how you pronounce poutine. If you edge too close to 'putain', your cheese curds turn into prostitute.

Nicely done, marking remembrance day. Thank you. The British victory was tenuous, so they negotiated concessions. Like allowing the French to keep their language and Catholic religion. Hence the distinct society that is Quebec, and why the Canadian constitution recognizes French as an official language. And why the separatist movement bubbles just beneath the surface to this day.

My mother and I had a trip planned to Nova Scotia when the pandemic hit...sadly that was really the last chance for her since she is now 86-our ancestors on her side were loyalists and settled in Digby just after the American Revolution. Watching your videos doesn't take the place of our trip but it DOES help her connect with the area part of her family settled in. Privelaged to come along with y'all for your life journey, thank you for sharing with us. You will never know how many people you and your videos touch, how many hearts are soothed knowing other folks are living thru the joys and hardships that is life. Blessings on you all. As a side note- I was never a big history and geography buff but I find myself pulling up maps to share your journey-especially Nova Scotia.

I'm only 2.5 minutes in and already I am amazed..... and shedding a tear! As an Aussie, I have always recognised the significance of November 11th but never knew that the prose associated with this day was written by a Canadian. I also recognise today for another reason. My Mother was born on November 11th. In fact - the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. In 1933. She was 33 when I was born in 1966. This year marks 29 years since her passing and not a day goes past without me thinking of her but today in particular.

Hé Dan, waar komt je vader oorspronkelijk vandaan (stad)? I have a history in Holland beginning over 40 yrs ago and includes two full grown children and grandchildren. All of the important things that happen in a young man's life happened to me, there. Very emotional and memorable place for me. Love the video's and family things. I'm so sorry about the young man you've all lost. But as you well know, you'll all meet again soon. God zegen je allemaal! Allan

I don’t even know where to begin. Just thank you I guess for an escape from the stress filled lives we lead all over the world. Your journeys remind me to slow down and be thankful. I’m thankful for your family. Hundreds of you. Amazing! One day someone may ask me…what are some things you remember that made you happy. The Van Stralen family made me happy. Safe travels. Peace be with you and God Bless You
