I tried playing this along with a KZbin song and it seemed too low tuning. I thought it was because some internet music tunes up some music half a step. Went to my laptop and I had a cd burn there. Same thing. But I played it with bar chords with D#m7. It sounded better but not quite. I tried your open chords and it does sound better but not quite there. I wonder if this song was recorded not quite in D. Any thoughts from anyone? BTW my electric is an American Strat SSH so it isn’t cheap. Tuned but not by ear to eliminate that issue. Never saw this before.

David, I'm stupid about rhythm, sorry. So the first measure is 1 2 3+4. The second measure...are you starting on the + of 4? Like + +2 3+4+ ? So if you played the riff starting on the + of 3, the first measure wouldn't change but the 2nd would shorten to + +2 3 then riff?

no prob Lee - dont beat yourself up as rhythm is challenging for sure. Which part of the song are you referring to - the intro or verses? Let me know on that and I will try and help. Also try to feel the rhythm - sometimes that helps to feel it out and play along as I play the song - you want to know the measures and beats for sure but dont spend too much time on that at first but play and make noise and have and that will come in time.
