@@noahlemanski9919 by some definitions different octaves are still harmonies since it’s the combination of simultaneous music notes to produce a sound that’s pleasing, so by that definition it would be considered one but i see what you mean sense of course it would sound good together because it’s the same note, so it doesn’t take talent like learning what notes would sound best with what, however by simple definition it still is definitely considered a harmony, it just isn’t as hard to do in terms of how you’d normally learn to harmonize

The entire point of harmonies is to create chords with multiple voices, guitars, etc..., so that requires a different note within the scale, usually the 3 and or the 5, creating a triad. Singing the octave up or down doesn't change anything, that's why when people sing the octave they say they are doubling the melody, as opposed to singing a harmony. Choirs do the same thing where they go from singing in unison (same part and same melody, just different octaves) to singing parts with full harmonies
