I could be wrong but I doubt he has a problem with idubbbz, and Sam didn't give him an honest, open look into his life at all when Ian filmed his documentary on him. I think the key difference here is that Harley engaged with Sam on a topic that he's truly passionate about and that helped him let his walls down so to speak.

To be fair, Idubbbz wanted exactly that but Sam never let him from the get go
@SamLabbato
@SamLabbato 2 жыл бұрын
@@cptmacbernick I'd argue that's part of the challenge. idubbbz set out to finally make "a good sam hyde documentary" in his words, and failed because he approached it too seriously and with an agenda just like all the other people who interview or document sam hyde. sam hyde was going to reveal eventually anyway, it wasn't like he completely locked him out, at least not until the interview. idubbbz just misjudged his character. what harley did here reveals everything. If idubbbz had just gone with sam's crazy shenanigans and joked around with him, sam would've felt more comfortable around him and opened up. At the end of the day, sam just wanted to hang out with a creator he admires a lot and give him some good content for his channel. idubbbz went in thinking he had solved sam hyde instead of just taking it play by play and that was his downfall. Not to mention he pretty much suffocated his personality just to "stay on track" for documentary stuff.

The focus on footwork was genius, a lot of these KZbinr boxers completely put footwork to the side but it's easy to learn and is one of the most important aspects to train, if you're not good with your footwork you aren't going to utilize the full strength of a punch and it leaves you vulnerable to being pushed to the ropes.

I like Sam's strategy here: use Harley's size to his advantage in order to get in Arin's face, tying him up and dirty box/beat him up. It'll look ugly, it won't be the "sweet science" or technically proficient, but it'll be effective. People will probably complain about Harley's style of fighting while his hand is being held up by the ref. They still need to fight, but I think Sam is onto a winner.

@MikeDindu
@MikeDindu 2 жыл бұрын
@@papa_pt Kind of, to an extent. If Sam's strategy works, you might see Arin come out and win round 1, maybe even 2. People will crap on how sloppy Harley style looks. But as the fight wears on and Arin's getting out wrestled(which I guarantee he won't even be prepared for), he'll be pushed and shoved, tied up constantly while taking body shots. Then Harley will step out of it using his jab to maintain distance. It will be an ugly fight, but towards the end Arin will be sucking on fumes wondering "how do I get out of here?"
@MikeDindu
@MikeDindu 2 жыл бұрын
@@makemeajmod Exactly. Whether people like the promoters(Idubbz and his girlfriend)or not, they have said many times this is the real thing. People are training with professionals. This isn't just a cutesy exhibition, the fighters will be trying to hurt each other. That's why Sam told Harley he's going to get rekt if he doesn't step up his training, drastically, and develop a game plan. Sam looked at this event, saw it isn't a joke, and is giving his fighter practical advice. I'm impressed, tbh.

I'm 6'6ft and 145kg. trust me when i say, throw some cardio into your workout. In the fight you will have a 1st round adrenaline dump that will sap you of your energy. You will feel it the second you sit down in your corner, the hardest part of the fight for you will be to continue after rest. In saying that, if you spar and do bag work consistently for a couple hours a day that might just be enough. Good luck Harley.

from what little we could hear it actually sounds like Sam was giving him the best advice. making sure hes doing bag work, the mindset stuff about not being timid after getting a warning from the ref, even putting him in a shitty room to get him in a more hungry/humble mindset (this is an old school thing champion boxers used to do). if harley listens to his advice i think its an easy win
