A bunch of guys in my unit and I just got stationed at Ft Carson and are looking to hunt rifle 3 this year. First year hunting elk, first year hunting in CO too. If you wouldn't mind, what GMU did you hunt in? We are not going for trophy, if its legal we shoot.

Christopher Runck I'm a Utah hunter, but I have some limited experience hunting in Colorado. The western part of the state has tons of public land, and there are quite a few wilderness areas too where hunting is generally pretty good.

Unit 11. West south west of maybell colorado. Perfect elk hunting. Easy walking. Elk move through there during that season. Good luck!!!

Central CO, Not many elk places in Northeastern CO as far as I am aware, pretty much just grass land, but good luck to you!

This is why we always hunt 3rd season = bachelor herds . We once took 4 big bulls out of 15 in less then 3 minuts..? .3rd season November
