John Williams is easily the greatest composer of our age. The power of music captures the heart and though his theme came out years ago it still sings to our inner child and has us believe in our hero’s. I watched my father sit with his grandkids and shed a tear over his favorite hero of all time and now he gets to pass on that hero to them.

This music is ICONIC! Can you even imagine Indiana Jones without its legendary soundtrack? Or Jaws? E.T.? Star Wars? The moment you hear the music, your mind instantly conjures up the characters-it’s that powerful! That’s the impact of this and so many other masterpieces by John Williams. Hans Zimmer is talented, but he comes in second-John is the true master. The younger generations can argue all they want, but just whistle the original theme, and everyone instantly knows the character and the movie. Try doing that with Hans Zimmer recreating themes from films like Superman, which already had a MEGA ICONIC score!

I remember when i was a little kid and went to watch Superman II in theaters. This theme, this song kept in my mind since the first time i listened, and i never forget it since then. Now as a man, i feel chills the same way as that day many years ago. Superman is back again, to bring us hope, the hope that our modern world needs. Thank you Mr. Gunn, God bless you.

I can’t believe it’s been five decades since this theme first debuted. I sat in the theater during the Christmas season of 1978 and watched this movie and was completely blown away. I got the soundtrack album for Christmas that same year. It’s a testament to the talent of John Williams at this theme is a classic and strikes such a deep cord.

I love how they're embracing the past and updating it to the present. As much as I love MOS, they didn't do that with the score. And I love the first flight theme, don't get me wrong, but this gets me pumped for this movie. I'm thankful for this. Superman II was the first movie I saw in the theater. I was like 6 years old. It was my Kindergarten graduation present. I've been a Superman fan ever since.
