A friend of mine wanted some drawers to keep tapestry supplies in.
An old hardwood door frame supplied the material for this build.

Who would've though that concealed inside a scrapped oak doorframe there was a beautiful work of art waiting to be released by a true craftsman. And those drawer fronts, a work of art in themselves,

I know absolutely nothing about woodworking, so for me this is performance art at the highest level. To watch scrap wood turn into objects of usefulness and beauty is joyous, calming, and heartwarming in equal measure. This tapestry threads box is exquisite. Your wife (or whoever this has been made for) is a very lucky woman to own such a lovely thing.

The craftsmanship is amazing, but it's the sounds of the sandpaper, the squeak of the wood as the screw goes in, the shaving sound of the plane that make so much the video. Sounds that bring back such great memories.

Hi, Jason. I may have said it before, and you told me you don't sell any of your creations, but maybe brand a small logo on them all, as I'm sure they'll eventually be very sought after collector pieces, and maybe that will add a touch of class and authenticity to them. I love the way everything you do fits together so perfectly, and the sound when the pieces click together is great. It's also fabulous to see all your pieces together (I've watched you create them all) in your mind-blowing workshop. Your design here is a work of art and completely beautiful. All the best, my friend, Ray.
