Yeah, when his "everyday pepper" that is just tasty and slightly hot but not overwhelming is 1.5 million SHU...There is a massive range of spiciness that normal people can experience that get compressed into almost nothing to him. I like the guy, but his ratings just aren't applicable to normal people, only the top spice heads.

@@John-Smith02 I'm not even halfway into the video but those 4 you mentioned isn't indicative that they're doing the blind test wrong. He probably did positively identified his just by its looks alone, the taste test just confirmed it. He's 1 of 2 now so it's very likely for him to not positively identify the rest. Edit and spoiler: He did identified traditional peppers and hot hybrid peppers he's familiar with and his incorrect answer being Habanada (which is still correct technically with it being a heatless Habanero hybrid). Ed really knew his stuff.

Something wrong with the scale when a habenero gets rated as mild.
@Jhud697 сағат бұрын
Honestly when you are interested in spicy stuff enough to build at least SOME tolerance, then yes habanero is mild. Though depends on the application. For me habanero hot sauces are too weak but eating a habanero powder infused fudge was somewhat eye watering (but enjoyable). My favorite hot sauce is carolina reaper beased but a piece of carolina reaper infused chocolate did make me cry, etc. Now, those are processed chillies, raw ones are different, but he doesn’t take that much of a bite of each.
@1creeperbomb5 сағат бұрын
I really like how thai chilli is rated mild. I mean I guess when you cook with it, you usually use multiple + red chilli powder, but that stuff is flames to people outside Asia lol. Also interesting that South Asia typically uses it green while East Asia uses it red.
