@louhimus no, the setter doesn't control the pass, he isn't timing anything, the middle is the one timing his jump, the setter is just setting a regular one like he always does, and I said the technique of the set was easy, actually doing that in game is super hard because of the setters perfect jump into the ball

... Nah, you're tripping balls. Dude did damage control, that's all. Spiker hit the ball far enough from the net that a proper block would have had a higher chance of being used against him by hitting him and either the ball goes out or is hard to receive because its trajectory changes, so instead he changes the angle of his hands to make sure it goes _up._ It's excellent reflexes and experience, no doubt, but setting it so they can mid attack like that? Come on lol. It was good enough that the reception allowed for it, which is a completely different thing.

Very important reasons why block isn’t 1. A soft block doesn’t prevent the ability to do a traditional pass, set, spike 2. A hitter can’t just roll the ball off of a blocker, and the blocker be left with no ability to touch the ball again
