If you mean the catfish, you should know that in some italy and europe they are common, maybe not of this big but quite similar, 30 minute is a lot of time because people Who fish for them (including me) use 10/15 oz rods and 200 pound lines, with those tings you can force the fish so much trust me

I went deep-sea fishing in Hawaii last year for fun. Not really expecting to catch anything. Only been fishing one time prior to this I was very excited when we caught a blue marlin. I had no idea what I was in for. Having no real experience or technique it took me about 40 minutes to reel in the 10 foot 300 pound beast. (Apparently that’s the about the size of a full grown male). It was really hard and I was completely exhausted. I have always loved and respected animals but regardless I still managed to gain a huge amount of respect for this animal. It was impossible not to be in awe watching it shoot in and out of the water. The sheer power of the thing. Unfortunately one of the hooks was stuck in the fishes eye so we had to put him down. Sad but I got my photo op. Such a beautiful animal. I had no idea that the tip of the nose was covered in these little razor sharp spikes. Cut my leg up pretty good just grazing the thing.

I was reading a fishing magazine back in 1992, I think, and an article in it was about a man catching a 14 foot Sturgeon in the Fraser or North Thompson River in B.C. Canada. He needed his dad's larger truck to pull it out of the water because his half tonne couldn't do it. I've never found any other mention of this anywhere, including National Geographic.

Now Seeing how big they really do get, I see that it wasnt a lie. He always encourged me to use bigger gear, cause he said there are huge fish in that river.

So do most of.the world when that's all there is available. You need to remember that little fact. Highly unfair pointing and blaming one. When we have no proof of this. You cannot lay blame on one when ALL are involved. Yes, even your own country are guilty of this also. Imagine if it were you?

Chains and wenches. For a hook they bend a piece of rebar and sharpen it. The line/chain is heavy enough that they don't need weights. Then they just slip a calf or maybe a full grown dog on for live bait. Monster hunting

I went to the gulf this summer, my cousin and my siblings went fishing. My cousin caught a 500-600 pound blue marlin and it took him 2 1/2 hrs to reel in and my sister caught a 4 1/2 foot dolphin (mahi mahi) that was 20 pounds. Btw my sister is only 4’6 and weighs 60 lbs so that’s a pretty big fish for her size
