I went deep-sea fishing in Hawaii last year for fun. Not really expecting to catch anything. Only been fishing one time prior to this I was very excited when we caught a blue marlin. I had no idea what I was in for. Having no real experience or technique it took me about 40 minutes to reel in the 10 foot 300 pound beast. (Apparently that’s the about the size of a full grown male). It was really hard and I was completely exhausted. I have always loved and respected animals but regardless I still managed to gain a huge amount of respect for this animal. It was impossible not to be in awe watching it shoot in and out of the water. The sheer power of the thing. Unfortunately one of the hooks was stuck in the fishes eye so we had to put him down. Sad but I got my photo op. Such a beautiful animal. I had no idea that the tip of the nose was covered in these little razor sharp spikes. Cut my leg up pretty good just grazing the thing.

There are catfish near the mouth of the Mississippi that no one knows how big they are because no one can land one and the water is too dangerous for divers.

I once knew an underwater welder that went to rest on a boulder underwater. He sat down on it... Then the boulder moved. Both the Missouri and Mississippi have some massive catfish. Eyes the size of dinner plates! Idk if i believe the dinner plate myth, but my buddy quit his job the day he discovered he may be on the menu

@evannation48424 жыл бұрын
@@PGAC22 27? I am guessing you didn't keep them all, because usually the limit is from 4 to 6 per person just depends where you live
@PGAC224 жыл бұрын
@@evannation4842 yes we got to keep them but we had to buy them all though, this was back in the 90's btw

What a shame more of these amazing creatures weren't released back from whence they were caught... it would seem pride and profit stopped some of the fishermen. God bless the ones that did xo.

It's terrible that they killed the shark just to verify a record. It's a living being just think about that before you do these kind of things. That shark could've been as old as there person that caught it. Smh

I went to the gulf this summer, my cousin and my siblings went fishing. My cousin caught a 500-600 pound blue marlin and it took him 2 1/2 hrs to reel in and my sister caught a 4 1/2 foot dolphin (mahi mahi) that was 20 pounds. Btw my sister is only 4’6 and weighs 60 lbs so that’s a pretty big fish for her size
