Running Stories is a series to tie in with the interest in fitness and rejuvenation that January brings. These are tales of how running has changed people's lives.
Ellie-May is a runner in East London who was diagnosed with epilepsy only a few years ago. She felt like her body was trying to control her, but she's found running "a way to take back that control." Most weekends Ellie-May would be out with her friends, but with epilepsy she would end every night out with a seizure. Looking back she acknowledges "I was living a lifestyle that I don't really recognise now." However, she says she's "left behind her old lifestyle" and focusing on her happy place - running.
