How are you doing? I had the long-term monitoring twice and had temporal lobe resection 3 months ago. I was diagnosed with epilepsy 10 years ago and failed 12 different medications. I wish I had the surgery 5 years ago. The brain fog is lifting, and I retain full neurologic function. Alittle short-term memory issues, but nothing I can't deal with. My advice is, if you don't mind me giving it. Find a support group. Talk to people who have been where you are now. I waited way too long to do that. It has made a huge difference in my life. Be well.

@@malvinabala685 I have temporal lobe epilepsy due to sclerosis. I have to undergo inpatient EEG (5 days), cognitive-thinking testing, movement testing, psychoeducational testing, as well as basic surgical tests like blood work and ECG. The waitlist for the testing is 3-4 months and if I'm accepted for surgery I may wait 4 months to a year afterwards (total waiting 8 - 16 months.)

@@malvinabala685 I wonder why people still spend their money on injections and drugs each time they are sick. Natural herbs can cure all kinds of illness including herpes, diabetes, asthma, HIV, HSV1&2, hepatitis, HPV , Cancer, Fibroids, Syphilis, kidney stone, Epilepsy, Strokes, lungs failure, Sickle.etc. I've seen it with my own eyes. I was cured from Hiv and Fibroid and my aunt and her husband were cured from herpes virus too by DR. Chukwu Madu herbs. He uses natural herbs to cure different kind of virus. Dr. CHUKWU Madu prove to the world that natural herbs can cure all illness and he cured countless people using herbs. I know is hard to believe but am a living testimony. I was diagnose of HIV and Fibroid in 2012 and i believe there is cure even when the doctors said there is no cure yet. I strongly believe in herbs and i came across a comment on a blog written by Lisa Pierre, saying she was cured from HERPES by Dr. CHUKWU MADU and i contacted his herbal home on the email that was provided on the comment and order one for myself and he send it to me through UPS and gave me instructions on how to use it and after i finish taken it i went for checkup and the result shows am Hiv and Fibroid NEGATIVE. The doctor said that the disease is completely gone from my body. There is no harm trying herbs it work perfectly and it has no effect. You can contact Dr. CHUKWU MADU to get yours.. His email is dr.chukwumaduherbalhome@gmail.com WhatsApp num +2348058485598. God bless you sir............

@AmberMcQuaker Amber, how are you doing? Did the surgery go well. I just had temporal lobe resection 9 weeks ago. Too early for me to know if it was successful. No pain with mine. I hope your fear of pain wasn't realized.

Hi Madeline, you are a strong person for helping your partner in taking on this surgery! I wish him the safest and most successful surgery as possible! Had I not had my partner in life it may have taken many more years of suffering and injuring my brain before deciding to undergo surgery. I couldn't be more grateful I made that decision.

I'm an army veteran and only did one contract but as I came back home I was working with a garbage company learning our routes. My boss was going to pay for my CDL and then I had my first grand mal. Had lost a lot because of it 3 years ago. This has been the scariest surgery I have ever had been recommended. I just feel like I need more information.

Congrats. I am Ian Anttila, the author of Work Hard, and Don’t Give Up as I am a historic case, averaging 20-30 tonic clonics and 200-300 complex partials a day. My first neurosurgery by the historic dr Frederick Andermann (he deemed me as the worst case in his career) brought it down to that much a month! My 2nd neuro in ‘89 was no assistance the historic dr Andre Olivier new where the problem was but the lesions were just too risky. I was then put experimentally on clobazam (frisium) which assisted me dramatically. I still average 5-8 tonic clonics a month.

I have had epilepsy since about age 14. I am now 63. I've been on many medicines, and the one that really seemed to work for a long time was Trileptal, then it stopped working. I'm on 5 meds right now and I hate the side effects. I drive (off and on because my license gets suspended at times and I have to wait a while before I get it back)and have even driven across the country. So, I have had accidents. In 2006 I had surgery to remove a ganglioglioma located in my right temporal lobe. I remember waking up and seeing everything in double vision, which lasted for a few days. I stayed in the hospital for a few days then was able to go home, but spent maybe a week or more in the house and took my share of strong pain meds. I have never had a problem with my speech, memory, thinking, etc.I ended up as good as new. Just wish my surgery had worked. So I'm a candidate again. I'm all for it if it will stop or improve my seizures.

Do they do these brain surgeries to cure epilepsy here in South Africa? I started getting grand mal seizures (frontal lobe epilepsy) 25 years ago. I desperately need to get off the medication I am on because of the side effects that is essentially making me sick all the time to the point that I end up in hospital too often to lead a normal life. I really would benefit from surgery tremendously!

I've had epilepsy for 46 years now. Just starting the process to be considered for surgery; last time was 20 years ago, and I was not eligible. Hopefully this time, my seizures won't be firing from every lobe.
