Wow awesome performance the guitar sounds great. As a fan of Barney Kessel I can really appreciate the work that has gone into this recording.

Now we're swingin.' A fantastic melody and that fat guitar gets it done.

Incredible job, not only the playing but remembering all.

Thanks. Well, jazz is like that, at least for me. Much memory of scales, arpeggios, transcriptions, phrases, harmonies. Everything is memory, then later comes the feeling.

Really nice. That Broadway just sings

Thanks M Marshall. Broadway is an incredible guitar for the price, it is worth making some modifications.

Woww amazing job! I also own a Epi Broadway and have been considering upgrading the pickups to classic 57 like yours. Thry sound so good! Did you record the backing track yourself?
@juanalvarez2155 жыл бұрын
Thanks Fil. The backing track is from the Band In a Box. I recommend, if you have the possibility, also try the Burstbucker 1. I have it in my 335 and it is fantastic, much more articulated than the 57 classic, but I don´t know how it will work in hollowbody, I think it would do very well. Regards.

That is very nice playing sir. Wondering, did you use the Barney solos book vol. 2 to help learn this? I recently got that book but I have not read through it much yet.
@juanalvarez2155 жыл бұрын
Thanks Charles. I do not use anything to play it, just the ear. I don't believe much in books, I prefer records and hearing, it's a somewhat harder path, but in my opinion it allows you a better analysis of what you hear.

That is a good choice of a solo/tune to learn. I am glad I got to hear it.

Hola Juan. Podrías decirme qué golpeador has colocado en la guitarra? Muchas gracias. Alberto.
@juanalvarez2156 жыл бұрын
Hola Albert.

Was it hard to change the pickup?
@juanalvarez215 Жыл бұрын
It depends. If you try to solder to the pot from the pickup it is more complicated because you have to remove the pot through the f-hole and then insert it. At first it was what I would try to do, however I saw that the original wiring was good and I directly soldered cable to cable, saving me all that labor. Then I changed the pot on the neck pickup for a Gibson 300k to give more bass, however I don't appreciate the difference too much. The original components are good, it is not necessary to change them except for the pickups.
@blueeyedsoulman Жыл бұрын
@@juanalvarez215 Wow, thanks. Mine is also Korean. I hope there is enough wire in there to get the pickup out. Those Gibson pickups are expensive! Love Jazz!
@juanalvarez215 Жыл бұрын
@@blueeyedsoulman If you want it basically for jazz you can change only the neck pickup, the bridge doesn't sound bad, I changed it because I already had a 57 plus at home. The jazzy sound is close to an L5, especially because of the pine top and the 25.5" scale.
