The Epiphone Dot is Epiphone's version of the venerable ES-335 “Dot”, has been wowing guitar players all over the world for over four decades. Vintage models (with vintage problems) can’t complete with our Epiphone Dot, which is simply one of the best deals today for guitar players who want the classic sound of an ES-335 at an affordable price. Epiphone is long famous for its own original semi-hollowbody models from the 1950s Kalamazoo, Michigan era, including the Riviera and the Sheraton. During the same time those guitars were designed and constructed in Kalamazoo, the ES 335, first introduced in 1958, became a favorite of blues, rock, country, and pop acts for its elegant design and wide array of colorful tone combinations. Now, the Epiphone Dot, named in reference to its simple ""Dot"" fingerboard inlays, brings the sustain and resonance of the clsssic semi-hollow design for a bounty less than most solid body guitars. The “Dot” is the same axe that has been the bell weather of every rock and roll breakthrough. And now for the first time, the “Dot” puts that classic sound and over 40 years of refinements in your hands, the Epiphone way.

These guitars sell for less than $500. It shows that a lot of the tone comes from the player's hands. Also, it helps to have a great amp.

Dito. Own one myself. Never found a Gibby worthy to replace it, actually sold an Gibby ES137 that held a lot of cash but didn t provide the xtra value after lenghty comparisons. It holds up strong beside fierce Eastman and Duesenberg competitors. Ok. Upgraded to true Gibby pafs and a Bigsby. Killer instrument.

Most guitars are made out of the same materials and to make them “cheap” they put cheaper parts on them… hardware and electronics are the easiest way to save… means that mostly all my budget guitars need better pickups 🤷🏻‍♂️… that includes guitars north of 500 and close to 1000!

I have a 2008 Dot Deluxe. Great sounding blues/jazz guitar especially though my Princeton or my Bugara V5. The guy who had it before me changed all the pots to US made and the input and toggle are changed to Switchcraft (Also US made). The Wiring has been changed to Gibson Vintage cloth covered wiring and the it has orange drop caps and there is not one nick anywhere on the neck or body or head stock. It came stock with Grover Deluxe tuners and the original Pups are fantastic. Total cost with beautiful case and shipping from Florida to LA...$320.00. Best deal I've ever made.

I bought one of these puppies about four years ago and love it ! One of the best purchases I've made . Also found an Epiphone Les Paul junior in a second hand store for $30 . WTF ? Took it home , cleaned it up , adjusted the truss rod and it's a rock solid guitar. Epiphones are killer ! Especially when Greg has one in his hands !

I have a Dot deluxe. Got it used in mint condition for $350 shipped from Florida to LA. He took out the Chinese stuff and put in Gibson vintage cloth wiring, switch craft tone pots and it's a monster. And I play through either a Fender 64 reissue Princeton with a 10" Weber or a Bugera Vintage 5 which cost about $70 used from Guitar Center. Tone to the max and cheap! Add that little BB preamp that he uses and you have what you need. And Mr Koch is a genius.

Hey Greg, I just found a 2001 model....the exact same! I love the skinny 60's neck profile, real rosewood board, larger frets, and factory Schallers (on tis one). Pickups are awsome. ABR & Stop-Piece seem to be alot heavier and solid. Mine was made in Korea. Still looks brand new! It's a keeper for sure!

I play lead guitar at my church. Constantly dealing with "do I carry a guitar back and forth or risk leaving a guitar at the church", which may at any time be unlocked or not depending on what is going on at the time. I got a new one of these on sale from Wildwood Guitar. The Lord has blessed me with several (over 30) very nice guitars many of which are just delightful to play and listen to. This inexpensive Epi ranks right up there with the big name guitars, and if something happens to it I'll get an insurance check and get another one. I added a Bigsby and roller bridge..and set it up...that's it. (PS: The set up wasn't bad right out of the box) Only issue is the shiny finish and the fact that we sit on the platform facing six overly bright spotlights. I could not see the side markers on the neck for the glare. Nothing wrong with the guitar, just an impossible situation - so I used some fine grit sandpaper to knock the shine off the neck and all is well. Love the Epiphone ES 335 Dot...not just for the price... but as an all around guitar. Ron
