Always preferred the Explorer shape, but I have to admit that the V just sounds better.

Originaly they were the same guitars just with different body shape, but they became kinda different these days:D

I never liked either of these shapes - I thought they looked ridiculous, for no good reason. But they each bring their own Flavor of tone in the Gibson Rock palette. The Explorer has an aggressive attack, great for the metal side of hard rock. The V on the other hand gets a warmer crunch - still crunchier than an LP, but not as aggressive as the Ex. Considering I already have an LP and an SG (Spesh), I think I would choose the Ex - just to cover a big range of rock tones. But it's really 6 to 1 and half a dozen, the other. Also, the headstock looks nice. Nice script.🤙

Bought the Gibson/Epi korina 58 and it sounds ridiculous good , waiting for my Black V right now , probuckers sound good in the V

Nice sound clean on both. Kind of muddy when distorted.

I seriously need to shake the temptation to get either model (the V still edging the Explorer). Watching these videos is having the opposite effect.
