I have an MB250 that I bought from new in summer 2001. It still has the original strings which hold pitch perfectly. I rarely use it so it is in very good condition. It'a an odd banjo, in that it has Epiphone inlaid on the headstock, but it has Gibson engraved on the truss rod bell shaped cover. I am thinking about selling it. to another good home here in the UK.

Nice down to earth video, Mr Brian. I am looking for my first banjo and saw an MB 200 not far from me. The fella is asking $100 for it, so I may just snap it up to start on. That 250 sure looks pretty too and sounds cool as you mess around on it.

A friend mine bought the same banjo brand new, he had a problem with it: the neck was bent close to the headstock, like the first two frets. He had to bring it to a specialist who managed to straigthen it with warmth or so...

They are a mass produced asian banjo. You get what you pay for. I have had 3 now, the first had a neck problem. But when you can find a good one for the right money its worth it.

Hi Brian, these are nice tunes and I adore how you are playing. However, I would like to ask if you could help me with my Banjo with some info on it and it looks like you are the expert in this aspect. It is a Epiphone Recording Artist, but not like yours and it has lights built in made for Charlie Jeib (?).

How can I visibly tell the difference between an MB200 and an MB250?

Thanks for the review, I'm checking one out tomorrow. Has DW prefixing the serial number which is a Chinese factory. Hope I'm not disappointed.

@@brianspini5088 Hi, yeah I play it fairly regularly, I like it a lot and it's pretty loud which is maybe not too good around the house.

Thanks, if you can find one at the right price well worth it. I am putting a Kavanjo head on it to play in a little jam group I am in. They all have guitars hooked to amps. So I will see how that works. We play all genres of music in that little group, so I will plug in. I have my main banjo for all my Bluegrass for other jams.

It helps if you actually know how to play the banjo before you go on KZbin.
