Superb interview! So nice to see Miho again. Was very sad to see her leaving Lovebites. Big thanks for translations. I'm huge fan of Lovebites, PassCode, Nemophila, Raise A Suilen, Wagamama Rakia etc etc. For female driven rock & metal lovers like me, Japan is a heaven! Great bands. As a guitar player I've wondered what they have in their drinking water - the amount of skilled female rockers they have there is tremendous. For example Lovebites, full of superbly talented musicians whose live playing is flawless, absolutely flawless. Keep them female rockers coming and thanks again for this interview!

I am glad to know that the fires of metal are burning stronger in her heart, I would love to see her having fun on a stage and see how her taste as a musician is developing. I'll continue keeping attention to Rosana's career. Knowing that she loves games too I wonder if she enjoyed the Guilty Gear soundtrack when she was young. During those early stages of the internet here in Barcelona the only japanese content that we got were games and some animes, so this music was certainly my first contact with japanese metal music when I was a teenager, around the time they were doing Guilty Gear X and XX. I say this because of the Dreamcast Miho's story, that's where I found the music. Still an excellent music still to this day.

When Miho speaks of stage presence, we're hearing it from an icon of stage presence. Miho standing there with her instrument, leaning forward, was one of the most powerful and also one of the sexiest symbols ever seen. I have a hard time seeing her returning to Lovebites again. The girls have commited to getting a replacement, and it would very possibly be a permanent solution. Especially since they have invested so much into getting a good replacement. The only thing is that if it wouldn't work after a few years, and the bassist deicides to leave the band... ...and Miho wants to join them again.
@coldburrito58182 жыл бұрын
@@andreaspedersen3952 yes, I agree with you but there have been many cases of bands reuniting in the original formula after years and years of being separated. Let's not forget that when it comes to Miho we're not talking only about her skills in bass playing, it is more about her exceptional talent in song writing. That's hard to replace and that's what I'm gonna miss the most.
@Chris23235182 жыл бұрын
@@coldburrito5818 To me it sounds like she wasn't happy with Lovebites anymore, when you hear her talking about Japan Metal being all about flashy use of instruments and she wished for more stage personality, then I think she don't want to criticize Lovebites in general but it shows that Lovebites evolved in a way where she wasn't feeling entirely home anymore. I really worship Lovebites and all they do but it seems Miho's ideas what a band should be about changed over the course of the years and are now different then those of the other members of the band. I am looking forward to anything new from her and I am sure I will love it, but I am also sure it will be vastly different then Destrose or Lovebites.

I love Miho and Lovebites more than any other band in 25 years, but a few serious words must also be possible from time to time between friends : All of the great rock bands of history have enjoyed enduring success and later fame because of their exceptional musical characters. The different types and characters and the friction they create in their work within the band resulted in the extraordinary and ingenious song material. If you are a mature person, you have to realize this over time. The result is then that you realize that you can never avoid arguments in the long run, but also the realization that you always have to make peace afterwards in order to continue successfully. This not only applies to music, but also when doing business or politics. I think that all 5 women still don't understand why Lovebites is such an extraordinary band and why the fans like them and their music so much. But least of all, Miho understood that. Miho still hasn't understood what a capable and great bass player she is. She let the techies talk her down (fans and professionals) and probably blames Miyako. --- Miho and Miyako you are the congenial duo of Lovebites whether you like it or not ! ! ! A new bass player is just around the corner, there's no turning back. Still, I would recommend Lovebites to get Miho back on board somehow. It would pay off. But making that decision takes self-confidence, cleverness, imagination, determination and great courage. To Miho: 5 cans of beer a day, being offended and a huge ego don't help and will also have a harmful effect in the future. To all LB women: If you don't understand what I mean now, promise us to think about it again in 3/4 years. Maybe then the penny will drop... To Lovebites Management : Don't blame Miho for this interview and the resulting discussions! It's good for us fans, for future Lovebites projects it's all positive. I know you Japanese concrete heads don't get it, just trust me...

She gives hints that she loves more groovy and heavy metals just like the songs that she wrote for Lovebites🤘 What do you think when she's talking about more technical and flashy songs?
@kellerfrederic12 жыл бұрын
If I'm not mistaken she said during her farewell that she wanted to change her professional career and to go somewhere else than music. This interview shows that this is not the case. The reasons for her departure we will never know because if she told the truth it would displease the Lovebites fans.
@PaleHorseShabuShabu2 жыл бұрын
@@kellerfrederic1 In her official goodbye post, she said, "Due to changes in the environment over the past few years, the relationship between artists and music and the way they express themselves has been forced to change." That's as close as she gave to her reason(s). A day or two before the announcement was made, she tweeted, "Today is the anniversary of my father's death as an ambulance. I still feel lonely after three years. I wondered if I would have been trying to save lives in this Korona-ka if I had lived well. Thank you to all the medical professionals who are fighting at the forefront." That's almost certainly not a 100% accurate translation, but it's close enough and is as close as I've seen to her wanting to change her profession which, to my knowledge, she hasn't done.

Truly hope Miho remains in the music scene and finds exactly what she wants! She was a big part of Lovebites and will be missed. Regarding KZbin views and western exposure, I found Lovebites only due to reaction videos on KZbin, and only recently. Likely would never have known of them otherwise. Most of these reactions are older too - 1-2 years ago. I have been trying to get popular vocal coaches and musicians who react to music on bigger channels to react to them, but for that to happen, it seems like the distribution company needs to stop blocking them and allow monetization for reactors, and view reaction videos as free marketing. They should also stop deleting and reuploading Lovebites videos, because some of them should have had millions of views by now, but don't, because they keep getting reuploaded and are not gaining momentum in the algorithm. As for western exposure, literally anyone who is into metal, and many who are just into good music, who hears Lovebites, instantly recognizes the talent on display and most become immediate fans. They are very popular, and rightly so, in very small, aware, metal KZbin circles, and very limited word of mouth. They won't get played on the radio (at least here int he US) for a host of reasons I have complained about to myself, and agreed with others on YT, as regards other foreign artists of all genre. I had never heard of Nightwish either, until only a year ago, again due to KZbin reactors. The best way for western exposure is Wacken (which they have done, and should do again), and a tour with a really big band (they have done it with Dragonforce in the UK). For the States, they would have to open for a really big metal band to get the exposure and traction they need. It is a very challenging hurdle to do that. Even Nightwish tours here in the States at really, really small venues, and I only just heard of them, and saw them the first time this year.

Eric, thank you for taking the time to send us your thoughts! I totally understand what you are saying and it's very unfortunate that many of the Japanese labels and publishers are still doing business in the past. Japanese companies as a whole are slow at adapting to the fast moving world and the record industry is not an exception. The Japanese record industry hasn't been very successful in promoting their artists outside Japan as they are caught up with domestic marketing in an old fashioned method. That said, the HEAVIER JAPAN was created to support talented Japanese artists to get their name outside Japan. We hope to assist such artists and get them the global recognition they deserve. We still have a long way to go, but we hope we can make a change.
@ericsaari29012 жыл бұрын
@@TheHeavierJapan I hope so too! I would love for Japanese music to get more exposure over here. It is well deserved. I know now to search YT for the best music in the world, as I have only been doing that for a year but found so many great things. Unfortunately, most new things come into my YT feed as reactions. I think it is just the way the algorithm works. Not many official videos from bands I haven't heard before, but many new reactions. I will have to start following more channels like yours that promote a variety of bands. Thank you for doing that! Also, while I am trying to go to Japan, I hope Lovebites tours over here!

I miss Miho so much. I hope she gets inspired and puts another great band of girls together, but anything she does will be good. She is toocreative to just play covers, it is probably like therapy for her for now , allowing time to separate from LB and get fresh ideas and vibe together, She is a charming all metal girl that anyone would love to team up with. We will patiently wait for her to come up with another killer project. : )

Miho is always interesting. Good interview, though the questions were a bit standard.

The one question we all want answered, is the one question we can't really ask. But I am very happy just to see her again. It was a nice interview.

Interesting idea. But I think Miho will choose a different member. Miho said, "I want to find new members," so I'm looking forward to it.

Pretty sure the very 1st question should have been. So Miho, why did you leave LOVEBITES?
@TheCyberMantis2 жыл бұрын
That is the one question we are not really allowed to ask. Maybe one day we will find out, but not for awhile. Victor-E let her out of her contract. I'm sure part of that deal was to not discuss any details publicly.

@@TheCyberMantis it's funny she says she left to do more of her own thing and music. Yet she's in bands doing cover songs.

Should have asked about her time in Destrose, Coma Countess, Moth in Lilac and Estrella.

I guess Miho wanted to talk about her present musical endeavors more then about the past. I can understand that.

Finally she appears to be indirectly addressing why she left her own band!
