Episode 002: Dragonbane RPG Solo ACTUAL PLAY (*Maximum Effort* Solo Campaign)

Episode 2 (First Mission): We are BACK, and I am ready to take our intrepid web-footed hero, our favorite gullible, stinky-but-perfumed, bill-scarred sojourner Groddy Flagstaff, into the beating heart of Deepfall Breach. His adventure gets started right away by - what else - TAKING A SWIM? Like water off a duck's back, no? Oh if his life were only as easy as that swim because no sooner does he emerge from the puddle that he gets hounded by an annoyed vampire bat woken from his snooze.
All of this and more, so don't miss Episode 2, where we begin our first mission and take on bats, zombies, shattering mirror traps, and some rules challenges as we continue our MAXIMUM EFFORT Solo Campaign.
Corrections (already aware of a few things I missed/forgot):
1. Forgot to take initiative card for Army of One
2. When I rolled a Dragon on Parry, I was supposed to do an instant counterattack that the enemy can neither parry nor dodge
3. Forgot to add advancement tick to Axes on said parry
4. Not sure if it would have even come up as I was not underwater long, but possibly needed to hold breath.}

When I played this I went for Vampiric Bats(a swarm) described in the small Bestiary section of the DB Rules. As a Ferocity 2 Monster, typically doing 2d6 damage, and only taking half damage from piercing, this was a really tough first encounter

I asked the oracle if I had a Harpy or Vampiric Bats. I got the bats. I didn't realize they were Ferocity 2, and barely made it out alive. If I had noticed the ferocity...that woulda been tough!

Hi! Thanks for the playthrough. Looking forward to more! Towards the end I don't think you were able to attack since you had used your one action to parry. I think you were supposed to draw for initiative again.

Just found your channel. Been working on solo gaming myself recently as I have no friends around who will play, I do play on discord with people and Dragonbane is great for both. We have almost finished the adventure book. I like those token packs. Usually I do TotM but for solo it does help to have a small setup.

Bat Stats: 10 Movement: 10 Hitpoints: 12 Pronouns: They/Them You may have killed it with an axe, but at least you didn’t misgender it. I mean them! You didn’t misgender THEM!!!! The poison dagger is a “trap card.” All that happens is that you run the risk of getting poisoned, you don’t get a dagger (if you look closely at the picture, the dagger is broken). There are other (trap) cards like it, that make it more clear how it works. That said, you are completely free to play however you choose. I really like the look of those Tabletop Tokens. I don’t need them, but I really want them. They’re not available in Sweden, though, and I’m not paying for shipping/VAT for something like that, so it’s going to be a no, unfortunately. Come for the game development, stay for the solo play. Great stuff!

How is "they" if there is only one Bat? Unless you wanted to write Bats.

In English the correct usage would be they them when referring to somebody without knowing the gender. This is been a rule since the 1300s. However when it comes to a bat or another animal, the proper pronoun should be it.

@@jackskelington7377 The correct usage for a single oddity we don't know the gender is "it". When we have plural, many oddities, then the correct is "They". So, when we are talking about A Bat, the correct usage is "The Bat" or "it". "The Bat was flying. It went in a cave." "The Bats were flying. They went in a cave." "The person went in the house. It was hiding there". "The people went in the house. They were hiding there." Looks like there is a very simple way to say all that and the usage of "They/them" makes no sense for a single person. I don't need degree in English language to see that.
