Some say it's because his application was literally walking into HR and rolling a Nat20 and walking out. I guess he could be qualified as well but a 20 alone with all that pressure is impressive. Too bad it didn't work out for him the other 23 jobs he tried it at.

Critical Role is great and all, but this show will always be my favorite.
@nohandle30298 жыл бұрын
Yeah this is pure comedy gold. Critical Role has much much more in the way of story and environment, but if want to watch just something just pure funny, AI is unbeatable.
@DuoSanguis8 жыл бұрын
I agree but Sam Riegel's little ditties can be pretty hilarious. Who can forget 'Ooo, You So Scary' or the memorable 'Clarota Healing'.
@SuperWoodgod8 жыл бұрын
Xenau lite Along with Matt's Dming, Riegel's one of the main reasons I love CR. I like the rest of the cast just fine, but if he were to leave the show, it would be a huge loss.
@Deathven14828 жыл бұрын
Can totally agree with that statement. If there is anyone second to Riegel it has to be Travis. He legitimately plays his character too damn well lol.
@voteZDLR8 жыл бұрын
I doubt Riegel would leave voluntarily, there's an article he wrote about it being like the first campaign he ever played and it's the reason he fell in love with it. He also mentioned he based his character on Eminem, which was great. But yeah Matt's the only DM that I ever saw who could truly even hold a candle to Chris. I enjoy them both so much I don't even wanna say who's the better one. Anyone who hasn't seen Critical Role, better go get started. They're great and there's lots of them to see.

Pat is an amazing Dnd player. Besides all the great roleplay and strategic thinking, the part circa 27:50 impressed me particularly "In the interest of fairness, do i have to declare my sneak attack on one of my attacks?". Good job Rothfuss, that's the kind of attitude anyone would like to have at their table, and one that you don't always find. You shouldn't have to call out your Sneak Attack before rolling. The common interpretation of the rules is that you apply it once you've hit, just like Divine Smite.
@edisontrent6188 жыл бұрын
Or in Magic the Gathering terms, after attackers and blockers, but before combat damage.
@RW777777778 жыл бұрын
another common interpretation would be it's always the first hit/attack, subsequent hits are less of a surprise generally
@curtisholsinger60234 жыл бұрын
A little known side effect of that Pat Rothfuss Bullshit: when Chris was DM, he just said “yes” to almost everything that Pat offered up. So it wasn’t just him getting good benefits. If he offered up a penalty, Chris would say yes to that as well. Pat has fucked himself over quite a few times because of this but we tend to focus on his self-inflicted successes instead of his self-inflicted failures. In this case, he imposed a stupid restriction for his own sneak attack for that particular turn; Chris just said yes to it.

Just speculating but man... the differences between saving Karrington and abandoning him are as clear as night and day. Leaving him in his room was probably their worst choice in this whole operation: If Karrington escaped with them, EVERYTHING would have been pinned on Auspicia. All of those stolen goods, the fighting, the damaged relations with both factions... Auspicia might be able to prove it wasn't her, but that wouldn't mean Acquisitions Incorporated could be implicated. Even in they could, they'd still have plausible deniability and it would be pretty hard to prove it was them short of finding the goods on their person. But by leaving Karrington behind, it's the exact opposite. He knows who they are and he'll squeal in an effort to lessen his punishment. Now, even though Acquisitions Incorporated only stole the rod, they'll be blamed for EVERYTHING that happened in the whole vault. The stolen belt. the stolen shipments. Any/all damage to the vaults. Lying to the dwarves and "murdering" the Zhentarim. If they weren't the culprits, why did they break out through the Lord's bedchamber? So close to a clean getaway, too. This is going to bite their asses off later. I can't wait!

To be fair, it wasn't a choice. They just forgot about him.

I realize they've already confirmed it, but I imagine that all 8 episodes were taken from a single session 2+ months ago, and that they have as such fit in another session already. One 4 hour session a month is pretty reasonable for most gaming groups, particularly when filming shit like this is part of the job (jealous), if not even once every 2 weeks or something like that.
