As i was lerfing today in Weymouth i thought 'Dan hasnt uploaded for a while...' Boom ,then i get an upload notification from the channel! I really admire the effort that you put into the channel mate. Not just the fishing, but the travelling too Top marks on upping your 2024 tally 👍🏻

Cheers Karl. You only get out what you put in is my theory. I'll be trying my hardest to add a Species a week for as long as possible this year.

Excellent filming as usual. Love the close-ups - those sandeel are pretty fish. Good to see there are mackerel all year round there. Already looking forward to the next one. 🎣🐟🐟🐟

Thanks. I love the colours on sandeels. Mackerel always help to pad out a session down here.

Cheers Steve. Worth a trip down there if you want a Common. They were stupidly aggressive

Thanks. I ended up on 60 last year for the second year running. 16 from Wild Freshwaters and 44 Saltwater. Aiming for 50 this year

Cracking vid as usual mate, the size of that giant, wow. Well done on the launce too, if you had kept at them there some Corbins mixed in with them there.
@LRFandHRF7 ай бұрын
Cheers Bob. Wish I could have trued longer but the wind picked up and changed direction. The lure wouldn't even sink. I'll go back down before they dissappear though for sure. Have you had one down there

@@LRFandHRF i had a few last year there, not been down that way at all this year, been concentrating on my other hunt, feel a bit guilty that I've not done much lerfing this year.
@LRFandHRF7 ай бұрын
Ah ok. I had a load a few end of march last year so still time. How are you getting on in the hunt?
@bobbananas2897 ай бұрын
@@LRFandHRF yep you should pick one up to add to your excellent tally👍👍. On 28 at the moment, the rays are not playing ball for me at the moment 😁

Planet of time to get a Ray through. 28 is good going for cheating with bait 😉 haha

Does lrf also work in far murkier waters? I fish mainly along North Kent cost where water is very colored and I was wondering if small visual lures would work. Any feedback gratefully received.
@LRFandHRF7 ай бұрын
It does. I've not really tried metals I'm murky water but know other styles work. Using isome and shirasus works well. Gulp also do a product called slime. You dip metal lures into it for extra attraction.

Thanks for reply. Much appreciated. Looking forward to giving it a go. I think a trip to sunny south coast may also be called for.

No worries. It's definitely worth a trip down this way. We are really spoilt for spots

Hi mate, I'm also a Kentish lerfer and there are places worth going to around our coast. Not quite like Cornwall but certainly worth fishing.

Hi what is the Year List record for shore fishing?
@LRFandHRFАй бұрын
Pass. Never looked into it. I just do it for my own target. I know someone that's on 50 plus saltwater species this year already

Be mindful you need a government licence to catch and photograph giant gobies. They are highly protected by some pretty stringent laws with hefty fines.
@LRFandHRF6 ай бұрын
Thanks for that. I know that they are protected. From what I've googled in yhe past, the law you're stating was in 1981. But it changed to "must not be kept" since.
