This series seems super promising, filled with detailed & precise directions. I feel these really show the aspect of managing the "most common new pilot mistakes" & that is the best part (in my opinion). For. E.g. the way loose brake handles & line tangle in the process of inflation! (Special thanks for the translated subtitles) Look forward to the entire collection of these videos.

04:40 - Rear risers are the only key to safety during high wind operation. Try brakes (only) and we will end up several meters downwind in the flat surface or fly unintentionally in a slope. Stop using brakes (on high-velocity wind) to avoid going six feet below the ground. Listen to Raul... he's one of the old-timers when it comes to PGGH who do propagate "safety".... and I love Supair of course ;-)

Don't understand why one wouldn't have the brakes in one's hands ALL the time, immediately after connecting glider to harness?
@passionparagliding39945 жыл бұрын
Hi David. I think this video is meant to show skills-building exercises. There are some advanced launch techniques (eg cobra) where a better result is achieved having one brake released. Maybe not for everyone.
@DomesticDave5 жыл бұрын
Passion Paragliding, still possible to cobra launch with both brakes in correct hands. I do it all the time 😎
@williamminaandes-4f1hmr715 жыл бұрын
@@DomesticDave That demo is more on active piloting skills during high wind condition therefore, we don't need to touch that deadly brake toggles. "brakes in one hand" = good only for moderate/laminar approx +-5mph wind using an approx 27sqm std fabric. "Rear risers" are the only key to "safety" during high wind operation. Try brakes (only) and we will end up several meters downwind within that flat surface or fly unintentionally in a slope. Stop using brakes (on high-velocity wind) to avoid going six feet below the ground. Listen to Raul... he's one of the old-timers when it comes to PGGH who do propagate "safety".... 04:40 is a very important words from him - that is proven from ALL old-timers like Raul.

Muy bueno, pero si levantas con la técnica de mandos de frenos ya cogidos no debería ser necesaria, a no ser que aún no los hayas asido, claro.
@airiemerlin1232 жыл бұрын
If the pilot has brakes in hands there is no need for this. And there is no need for brakes NOT to be in pilot's hands. There's no launching technique that cannot be done whilst holding brakes, each in their respective hand. In stronger wind simply use the A and rear riser Mitsos technique whilst having brakes in hands.
