Love this. It is so misunderstood. Mom was placed by the family at a 2nd location as the first location did not serve her well. Mom peacefully passed in her sleep at 94. The first facility did not have housekeeping or suppplies to clean the bathroom of an elderly person. Paying $5000 a month one would expect housekeeping to be available not inaccessable to the staff that was there on the weekend.

I'm sorry for your loss. We agree that for $5,000, someone should expect basic services such as housekeeping. Utilizing the services of a local referral agency would have helped to know the pros/cons of each facility before your mom moved in.
