Hey everyone, today we are tearing down by junkyard 5.3l that I got for $198 from the junkyard at a u pull and it was 50% off day.

Thanks for posting this video. The L33 seems to have a few unique features, Question: I am putting one together that I did not pull apart. The head bolts that I have are ALL 100 mm long. ( there were only 14 when I got it) Most LS engines use 8 "long" and 2 "short" head bolts per side. Were all 10 of the head bolts the same 100 mm on your engine?

Just bought my L33 today for a swap into a Pontiac Solstice. Do you have a recommendation for road course racing set-up? Edit: it’s going to be un-boosted and have a Tremec 5-speed.

Sorry just saw your comment, I would call someone like Brian tooley racing which provides a lot of ls parts. Not knowing roadcourse I’d imagine you’d want torque out of the corner and maybe some higher rpm for straights, they should be able to recommend a cam. Then from there I’d do a new timing chain, hardened pushrods, probably new oil pump, not sure if you need upgraded rocker trunions. Not running boost you should not need arp studs for the heads.

Dam I wish knew this man I could really question him better than the police about his l33 I have one in ah 05 yukon I want to put it in my 1500 regular cab built like his 600-700 hp correctly built

The 6-700 hp would be with a log manifold turbo not na

@@edwardboyer7102 I’m building mine to be a turbo set up to be 6-700. To do that na your gonna need a lot more $$ than what I spent and did.

Just change relucter wheel
