episode 1 - Sanding

Hi kids, it’s Lou here. I’m just about to repaint this 23 foot bottom skiff that I built here quite some time ago. I’ve still got it in my possession after quite a while and you know the paint job held up really really nicely and you know, but we decided that we could actually do a better job painting and you know we wanted to get a nice base of this finished paint on the boat because the finished paint sand so nicely as the defies imagination you know When I was a kid almost every boat painted every year or every other year because all the paint was paint and look a little flat over the course of time so you know somebody that really was proud of their boat wanted it to shine and that’s what it took a nice new coat of paint so you know we paint it was polyurethane paint from ‪@TotalBoat‬ and you know it’s easy enough to work with, gonna end up putting a couple coats on it but today what I wanted to show you was how easily it sands and what we did to prep it up for this paint job that we’re doing

Great tips. Im gonna have to make a hood like that for my random orbiter sander. I have a question. Can modern polyurethane paint be applied on top of ye olde red primer? I haven't been able to find any coherent answers online. One would think that since polyurethane is a petroleum (oil) product, that itd probably be fine over a linseed oil based primer but im just not sure.
