I did a couple of things different. firstly to seal the corrugations i used expanda foam, which was way quicker than the method you used. after a couple of times I learnt how much to allow for the expansion and it's easily trimmed with a stanley knife if needed. second, I didnt use any etch or thinners with the pavement paint. just swept and tidied the floor, then rolled the paint on.mine's been down eight year now and no flaking or lifting, even using trolley jacks, engine hoists with steel wheels etc. your shed looks great btw and like yourself, went too low with the 2.4m walls. my next shed will definately get the 2.7m walls so I can get my Navara inside.

Looks so easy in time lapse lol, I’ve had several sheds over the years, your sealing will last heaps longer than the foam slide ins that rats love to eat, great work 👌

Cheers Mate. The Sikaflex is still holding up nice. I thought about the foam but glad I did not use it.

Good job mate. Just finished building mine the same size. I'm glad I insulated now as I don't have to silicone around the bottom.

Great video mate, nice shed! I just went thru the same thing, doing a shed install. 9x6m 3m walls, must admit you were very keen to sikaflex the gaps, wow what a job! i ended up going vermaseal, an angle colorbond product that run around the edge of the slab, worked a treat... thanks for your video insight into the painting, i'm at that stage now.
@ShenkeGarage4 жыл бұрын
Haha yeah the sikaflex took ages and prob would not do again. It should last a long time but.

Great video, looking at building a double charge through Best sheds. The music was a bit too much for me though

Good value for money with the Best sheds kit. Yeah this was my first video and I realize the heavier stuff is not for everyone. Was a Mates band but have mellowed down the music in the videos from now on.

I loved the music. The same can’t be said about best sheds. I’d prefer to use the thicker colourbond sheets and have smaller portals with them cast into the concrete. Just a few small things that make a big difference in the end. But if your happy, then that’s all that matters.

Have just built a similar shed 7x15 and the cladding is 5-rib zincalume, they supplied a 'vermin' strip for the bottom which tucked under the bottom of the sheet and went at right angles over the bottom of the sheet and a 10mm down-turn as a drip-edge. Saved having so seal it and added waterproofness. Mine is a pole shed - look under Hope_DIY for the timelapse and doesn't look as smart as your steel framing. But it's functional!

How's the shed holding up? Have read some horror stories on Best Sheds scares us buying one of their sheds. Thanks

Is this stuff better than the Berger Jet Dry and White Knight concrete paints sold at Bunnings? Covercrete and epoxy are too expensive for me but this surface looks great and hard wearing for a patio, which is what I am looking to resurface. I'm hoping that Pavecoat is the perfect solution it looks like it is.

Nice shed, I'm looking at vermin proofing my shed soon. How many gaps do you reckon one tube does? Cheers.

Nice slab, don't get why so many people don't set stirrups into the concrete at pour time, beats the heck out of slaving over a drill later on, you just bolt up the verticals and stand them up.

Were you able to get the silicone in those corners behind where the posts are? Or did you have to get access from outside?

Great vid - Do you remember how many sausages of Silkaflex were needed for the gap coverage?
@ShenkeGarage3 жыл бұрын
It was a fair bit. I would say maybe 8 - 10. Its kinda costly but it ends up sealing really good and should last a long time.
