How does the no ratchet fit when wearing a hood and mask vs without either on? Do you size it for use with your mask on and then folding the ear flaps in keeps it tight on your head when not wearing your mask?

I used the Cairns N6A Sam Houston leather fire helmet I used during my time in the fire service I still have I left my department in 2013 for personal reasons I had my helmet with bourkes and goggles
