In a country with no history of fast bowlers, in a system that didn’t know how to produce fast bowlers, a fast bowler was born. In a country that never produced world class all-rounders, an all-rounder was born. In a country that didn’t know how to win, a World Cup was won. That’s the legend of Kapil Dev.

Kapil Dev wrote poetry with the cricket ball. He was a genius in an era when cricket alone mattered in the game. The man is such a modest gentleman. Hear this interview, read the other articles about him.....much ink has been spilt about him; and through it all he has been a thorough gentleman. I resonate with the vibes of the nation and the cricket-world and say ‘we are proud of You and your shoes are so unique that it’s difficult to fill”.

One of the greatest men cricket has ever produced. His 175* when India were fumbling at 17/5, one of the greatest ODI innings of all time. He taught an underdog team how to stand up to the mighty West Indies team of the early 80s. And with the ball he picked 434 wickets, stood as the highest wicket taker for so many long years... And yet so humble and genuine. Simplicity of the great man.

Gavaskar saab, that's Kapil for you. Very humble man. I am not a big fan of him in school days. I am hardcore Sunil Gavaskar's fan and i had so many fights with my schoolmates who are Kapil's fan. It is nice to see my generation cricketers again. Kapil paaji our country's real fast bowler in 70s-80s.

Kapil Dev and his 83 world cup squad changes the definition of Indian cricket team. After this True meaning of HOPE comes in And to mention Cricketers like Sunil Gavaskar ,srikant, Ravi shashtri And all other team players of that era They all were fantastic and they literally enjoy cricket. Amazing episode Oak tree sports. Simple, Charismatic and true sportsman Mr Kapil Dev ❤❤

Such a sweet guy! Had to manage both a cartoon like Srikkanth & a serious pro like Sunny. So touching to see him bond with Binny & find a friend in him well after retirement. Great interview!

The man, the bowling machine, the truest all-round legend our Kapil Dev. My entire childhood in the 1980's was spent watching him play whenever the telecast was on DD channel and reading completely about it again in a magazine called "Sports-Star" :-)

Same with me. But I also used to read 'Sports World'.

It's sachin ganguly kumble laxman sehwag who change indian cricket but it's kapil and gavaskar who give these guys a reason to stand and eventually kapil and gavaskar put the foundation of great indian cricket unknowingly.

Kapil Dev always has a swag in his personality..... when I was a kid ... I never had Curly hair.. my teeth are straight ... but I used to try to make my hair curly ..and always try to keep my uuper lip in a way so that my teeth r shown and try to imitate Kapil bowling action while playing cricket.... I used to (and still) admire him so much.... and I still like his smile.... And man I always wish, there was a recording of his 175 runs.....

What a legend. So much respect for the seniors even now and such love for his peers and juniors. Amazing to watch. No doubt he was the greatest Indian cricketer we ever had for a long long time...
