I love the fact that even though he was traded by San Antonio, essentially they were saying we can't keep you George, The Iceman stayed in San Antonio to work with the town's youth... and to remain an important figure in the Spurs organization.

Never saw this man play a min but with the stories my dad has told me he has always been my favorite SPUR’ of all time… I was spoiled with the big3 but it would’ve been nice to see the “roots”… I hope the “back home at the dome” game is as wild as the hemisphere arena was Go SPURS Go

I was in SA in 1973 when Gervin joined the Spurs in 1974. All of the stories are TRUE.

One of the greatest scorers of all time because he was so skillful and unbelievably original in his shots. I was an original season ticket holder because of Gervin. He made at least one shot every night that was worth the cost of my ticket.

Dr. J was the ABA and saved the NBA. Gervin saved Drossoss & McCombs, thus he saved the Spurs. David & Tim sit on Gervin's shoulders and each have earned a seat next to his feet.
