Bruce 1000% deserves praise and recognition for his contributions to the Spurs and the city of San Antonio. I even remember when Aldridge first signed with the Spurs, Bruce's #12 had already been retired, yet he still allowed LA to wear the number so he could feel more comfortable on the team. Such an outstanding guy!

Loved Bruce’s game, his lateral movement and twitchy responsive defence gave you confidence as a spurs fan that they could stay in games while the offence wasn’t firing because of how much he disrupted the other teams first option players- I imagine he was the subject of a lot of negative emotion from opposing teams haha!

Besides Ben Wallace and Bruce Bowen, is/are there other All-NBA First Defense and Champion in recent memory that went undrafted? (Pardon, went passive to check Google and Wiki.) This is another case of meant to be together between the Spurs and Bruce. Lance Blanks (+) going to China to ensure Bruce's signing is a new story for me, while for sure give a huge impression for Bruce. No less than a Spurs' top brass went that extra mile (i.e., half the globe) to show how special (and perhaps desperate as well) Bruce was. And it was a give-and-take synergy. Bruce took the high road after being traded for Richard Jefferson. He was wooed by Boston, but the decided to retire. An adopted Texan as mentioned, he landed a job for the LA Clippers. And while he was there during the 2018-19 season, he was sacked for publicly criticizing "Judas#2". Apparently, Clippers management would rather sacrifice truth than displeasing the "Judas' camp." Apparently his stingy, "poking" defense for the Spurs continues in retirement.
