I like that you use stainless steel cookware and a wooden spoon instead of plastic spoons and aluminum or nonstick cookware (cos they are extremely toxic but Sri Lankans are not aware of this unfortunately). I also like that you didn’t use cumin seeds, cumin powder, coriander powder and ginger garlic paste, because those are Indian cooking techniques/ingredients. It’s important to preserve Sri Lankan cooking techniques instead of being influenced by Indian cooking techniques/ingredients. Thunapaha and badhapu Thunapaha are what we use for all our curries, and it is unique to Sri Lanka 🙏🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰. I also like that you mentioned that tempering food is not healthy. Nowadays Sri Lankans temper everything and they end up getting really sick and don’t live long. Back in the day tempering food was very rare. Authentic Sri Lankan food wasn’t tempered in oil. Only the Indians have to temper every single curry. Luckily Sri Lankan food gives us a choice and we have both options, you can either temper or cook in coconut milk or even water. So we can be healthier. Lastly, I also like how you told us to safely dispose of glass and crab shells and to think about the garbage collectors and the fact that they could be injured by it. How kind of you to pass on this message given your very public platform. I hope you continue to pass these messages to our Sri Lankans. Good job, Anoma!

❤It is wonderful to know that there are others who think about the waste collectors like I do. What I do is separate the hazardous waste like glass and keep them in any disposable container like ice cream tubs or tin containers before keeping them out in properly labelled garbage bags.

No you can’t fry. This is toaster oven. You can do such as toast bread, reheat pizza, KFC and make garlic bread etc. sorry for the late reply.
