Nice! I really like that mic bracket. Glad it’s working! Was glad she didn’t call the driver “good buddy” after the radio check.

By any chance would you make that piece of metal for another FJ?

How did you run the coaxial cable to outside. I have a ‘16 4Runner. Can’t find a factory grommet large enough for the ends to fit thru.
@WanderlostOverland5 жыл бұрын
On our '18 4R there's a rubber plug under the carpet, under the passenger seat, close to the door. That's where we ran it through.

Did you cut off the little 2amp fuse that came with the wiring when you connected the “add a fuse” wire?
@WanderlostOverland5 жыл бұрын
Yup, no need for two fuses.

I have been following for a good while and have an FJ. Now that this has been on your dog for a bit, how is it holding up? Is the radio working well for you? Thanks for the informative and humorous videos.

Thanks for watching! Yes, the CB is still working perfectly.

how did you attach the transceiver to the underside of the console? it seems like screws would come up through and be visible , double sided tape eventually would fail, Adhesive? Did you put a wire from the "unit" to ground in addition to the ground wire to power the unit? Thanks ..enjoy your vids.

We did run a couple tiny bolts through the console to mount the box. We simply dabbed a little black paint on the bolt head that's exposed.

I need a mount like you made! Nice job. Just installed my cb, and trying to figure out where to hang it. I like your solution! How'd you make it?
@WanderlostOverland6 жыл бұрын
We simply took some thin, bendable steel then bent and drilled.

How does the hard plastic piece the rubber grommet goes one come out of the metal? my rubber grommet came off and the plastic stayed in. I'm afraid I'm going to break it

hey guys, could you possibly go into more detail on the mic mount? I'd like to duplicate it. what guage steel did you use? did you bend it in a vise, or metal brake?
@WanderlostOverland7 жыл бұрын
Hi Neil, thanks for the question. We posted some pictures and text over on our Facebook Page explaining it the best we could. Hope it helps.

Where did you mount the external speaker?
@WanderlostOverland7 жыл бұрын
At first we mounted it on the console but quickly learned we didn't really need it at all, so we took it out.

I'd like to make a mic bracket like yours, any chance you could share the pictures? I cant quite make out the design.
