Getting Error: data-dir "default.etcd" already exists while restoring snapshot

If staticpod of etcd is not in /etc/kubernetes/manifest, how to identify where is stored/available ?

Rajesh, thanks for the question. It is not uncommon that etcd manifests are stored outside of standard path. So, if that's the case you can always type "ps -ef | grep etcd" it will throw a message with the paths to all its config files where. Please note if the cluster is setup with the kubeadm then your etcd manifests will remain in /etc/kubernetes/manifests folder though. Also, the kube-apiserver and maintains the etcd pod and its manifests path inside its configuration file. So, you can also check api server manifests to figure out where the etcd files are on the control plane. worse case you can use linux command " find / -name *etcd*" which will throw all etcd related files along with its path on the terminal. You can then proceed with the etcd backup and restore operation. Hope this helps ! enjoy! More videos coming soon.

is endpoits mandatory to pass while save ?

If you're doing on the control plane - you can use 127.0.0.1 or even skip because etcdctl will try the control plane node first. I think you will be running etcd operation from base node i.e. outside of control plane so it is a best practice to pass the endpoints etcd-ip-address:2379 to your etcdctl snapshot save command. I will be posting a fresh backup and restore video sometime this week - watch that one as it will contain some additional information on etcd restore operation from an external node i.e. outside of control plane.
