Hi all. I wish the four of you Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year. Keep up the great work in 2024! A true shame that top 40 radio completely ignored “Now And Then” even when the song was in the top 40!

RIP Denny L. Truly the “glue” for Wings. He will be sadly missed.

What an incredible show to end the year with. I've been a huge fan of this show since it began. I was 15 when I became a fan of Macca solo and since then Band on the run was my fav Wings album and Chaos my fav Paul solo album. Since Paul solo albums are so different from Wings albums I rank them separately. My top 3 tracks from the album are 1. Band on The Run 2. Let Me Roll It 3. 1985. For fav items this year 1. Now and Then (The single and the video 2. Luca Persasi, Music is Ideas; Vol 1. 3. Living The Beatles Legend 4. Ringo EP Rewind Forward 5. Eye of the storm My wish list for next year is 1. A Paul Archive box set; I can't believe it was the 30th anniversary of Off The Ground and there was no anniversary release of any kind 2. A Ringo Colored Vinyl of Goodnight Vienna or Vertical Man 3. Rubber Soul or HELP! deluxe Box set 4. Vol 2 of Luca Perasi book and Jude Kessler's Shades of life book. 5. Living in the Material World box set

Ask for my three BAND ON THE RUN favorites, and "Let Me Roll It," "No Words," and the title song come to mind. The album belongs on the shortest of short lists of Paul McCartney albums I've played over and over.

What is the "svana" track Tom is talking about for 2010s collaborations of Paul?

"Sir"vana. Cut Me Some Slack from Dave Grohl's 2013 Sound City documentary; feat. McCartney and the surviving members of Nirvana (Dave Grohl, Pat Smear and Kris Novoselic)

Saw Denny and a four piece band in a pub in Leeds, uk. Before the gig he went to the public toilets, i followed him shortly after. Denny was in a cublcle, i spoke to him through the door saying how much i liked Japanese Tears, Denny was laughing loud at my comment. I didnt think to say ' youd better Go Now'. Denny sang and played great but sadly he didnt talk to the audience at all. It felt like a quick cash grab, my friends thought the same. That said, i rate him as the best collaborator Macca had after Lennon. Elvis Costello a close third. RIP Denny

Ken, I can say why the new red and blue won’t stay in the charts..Because streaming is a main reason now, but the Beatles sadly decided to not add the streaming numbers to the already exciting song versions (2009/2015 remaster, only tor the white album). And the so called standard versione are the ones that are still streamed the most by distance.While i he remixes start from 0 and wont appear at first if you search the band as a new fan.

Okay I was a bit wrong, for the charts, its just listed as „Beatles 1967-70“, so it counts both. But this issue is still a thing..

People in the Uk grew up with Helen wheels not being on the album so ,to us ,it doesnt belong there. It spoils the flow of songs .Guess its what you are use too!
@t22100010 ай бұрын
Yeah being accustomed to the UK version since I was 15 it just flows better with only 9 songs.

I know Peter Jackson is a big Beatles fan and has been working on projects since around 2019 but I have the impression he is not enamoured with the solo work.
@t22100010 ай бұрын
That is true and when he was on Things We Said Today he told Allan Kozinn that Allan's book made him appreciate Paul's solo career more than he did before.

Would have preferred Helen Wheels on the album to the repetitive Let Me Roll It.
