Senior in engineering, and this summer I thought it would have been fun to get my MLO license. If you told me how much I needed to work to pass, I do not know if I would have done it. Either way, took a 23 hour online course, a pre exam prep course, and in the course of two weeks of severely intense studying I passed. This is by far the hardest test I have taken, I believe this test is designed to trick you and challenge the integrity of your confidence. Now I am on my way for applying for the NMLS for my license! If you are studying, definitely do not underestimate the difficulty of the test, especially if you do not have a background in the mortgage industry like me. Although. if you thoroughly prepare, then you will be fine!

I just want to say Bill was my teacher at stuart, Florida gold coast and he is truly an amazing mortgage professor. I'm taking my test October 28, 2022. He is a great teacher and very invested in his students. I would of purchase his material but I can't afford right now. I'm studying my butt off and watching alot of videos. I just want Bill to know he is amazing truly.

Super grateful for this episode! Small correction, very minor: you can take the course first and when you’re bout to take the course test, you can get your NMLS number. But you do not need your NMLS number to START the course.

Once you understand the real role of an MLO you will be concerned less...Yes, technology will help make obtaining a loan easier. It will be easier on the LO, it might make the Processor obsolete and it will be easier on the Underwriter. However, a great MLO is an advisor, a consultant. You have to ask all the right questions of your borrowers and help people figure out how to qualify and once they qualify which of the 10+ financing options is best for them and then explain why. These folks will have anxiety, fears and frustrations you as the MLO have to be there with them walking them through this process and helping them cope with the magnitude of emotions. In general, people's back story / financial history is sticky. Meaning, loans are not easy. Real people with real life real situations need real people to help them navigate said situations.
@Murmaider5123 жыл бұрын
@@dustinowen1191 Thank you for taking out the time to address my concern and also thank you for these great videos. I kept a straight forward view towards the concept of mortgage loan origination but with 350 Mn people in this country and each with a different story, it will take at least 20 yrs+ and many more data points for AI lending companies to buy/acquire all the data they need to automate MLO (unless a big company Amazon jumps in the game, they're already dealing with turnkey sales and with huge capital and data, can easily jump into loan origination) and predict every outcome to establish a certain limit. I hope your podcast reaches all aspiring people to give this career path a try. Meanwhile, keep up the great content and knowledge you're giving to us children 18+ :)
