A quick and easy trick for lining the inside of your Christmas stocking is to use a pre-made felt stocking. You can simply place it inside your stocking, cut it to fit if it’s too long, and add a couple of stitches around the top to hold it in place. Really easy and looks great!

Great 👍 Podcast! I’m the same with seaming, working on Lisa Richardson’s crochet blanket, almost done. I miss my cross stitching but I got into knitting and it’s been a while. We have a lovely shop here and I have many more to do. My light w/magnifier broke 😢 so need to get another. We had a little bit of snow ❄️ but only lasted for 1/2 a day. Just don’t get any like when I was young 😫Now that we are retired and still quarantined it would be perfect. Happy 😊 knitting 🧶💙

I made the same pair of Regia pairfect socks. They were fun to make and they wear like iron. I love them. Heh-heh, I knew you would start Austin's Christmas stocking! I do line Christmas stockings. I use a soft t-shirt fabric. Lay the stocking on in and trace around. Make a small seam, slip it in and whip stitch down. Doesn't take long and saves the aggravation of fixing a snag or worse. That hat is in my queue now. I have lots of fingering weight yarn in lots of gorgeous colors.

Thank you for another great podcast! That mini set is beautiful. Might make a nice striped hat or cowl. As for the blue and natural yarn- have you looked at any of Jennifer Steingass (knit.love.wool) patterns. Most are 2 colors. You would need more of the blue yarn though. I’m getting ready to start the Darkwater sweater with colors similar to yours. Just have to cake up the yarn. You always knit the prettiest sweaters. Hope you get lots of snow this weekend 🙂

We used to hang up a pillow case, and then one of my Dad’s socks. The stuff we traditionally got in the sock was a six penny piece (this is when we were using ‘real’ money) some nuts and an orange. Life was much simpler back then. Mind you, this was UK, 70 years ago.

Going through and just letting the podcast playlist play so i can see all the old episodes from before I started watching and OMG so funny I have that same steamer! I have a cheaper smaller one I had gotten first, problem is with the first one it doesn't work well pointed straight down it would sputter then spew out a bunch of hot water. So it only worked well for small things where I could hold up my blocking mats. But the one you have here I LOVE it so much it works great, i only wish it had a on/off switch so if I'm blocking a lot of small things I could turn it off (and not unplug) while letting the first batch dry,. But since it doesn't I just let it be on till I'm done.

Good call on the steam blocking, my first colorwork project was the Moonwake cowl and I had a super light pink and a dark red, and when I went to block it the red just bled all over the colorwork and it’s ruined. I’m not sure what I could do to save it (if anything) but ugh, the prices we pay for lessons we learn!

Re: jogs in socks. Are their sock inspectors out there that will make you 'show your socks'! LOL-one of my favorite old Irish sayings is, "it will never show on a galloping horse' That is how I look at jogs in socks! Luckily for me, my tension holds true on 9 inch circs. I would be looking for 00 or 000's otherwise. Although-I prefer to use 11 inch circs if I have a choice. Amazon sells them, if you are interested in an experiment.

Your sock is adorable and you did a fantastic job (not that my opinion counts for anything). I also love Stolen Minutes project bags. Carrie's bags were sold in a local yarn shop but unfortunately the shop closed. I really need to track down another bag for my bag addiction. When mixing colors, particularly with saturated colors like your red, it is a good idea to knit a swatch using all of the colors, and then soaking the swatch to see if the colors bleed. Soaking will make the yarn "bloom" and would help to hide where the floats are secured. I have also used a Shout Color Catcher when soaking my knitting. There is another method for securing the floats called ladder back jacquard that is supposed to work better when white is your main color. I haven't tried it yet but will try it on my next colorwork project (I have always wanted to knit the Big Lebowski sweater and it would be a good project to use that method).
